The house was packed. I'd never seen such a home so stuffed. It seemed like everybody on both the swim team, and the Minneapolis Wild were there, and a bunch of other people I didn't know.
I worked my way through the crowd to find the fridge for something to drink. The line for keg stands was way too damn long and who really wanted to drink beer while upside down?
As I made my way through the room, a broad shouldered guy with long ginger hair that was tied up into a man bun caught my eye. It didn't help that his shirt just hugged his biceps.
Put your eyes back into your head. You don't stand a chance.
I was utterly plastered.
Playing battleshots with a bunch of hockey players was a terrible thing for me to do. At the time, ten shots of vodka didn't seem that bad of an idea. Didn't help that the vodka had no effect on any of the guys. If I didn't know better, I would have thought that they were doing water shots. Yet, I knew all too well that vodka bottle near the battleship board wasn't watered down at all.
After losing the game, my head was absolutely swimming.
Making things worse, I had to pee and there were massive lines at both bathrooms. Which meant the only place left for me to pee was the woods in the back.
I trudged through the woods to find the perfect tree to pee. Despite having the world lean to the right, I knew I couldn't pee too close to the house or people would see me.
As I finished peeing, I saw two of the hockey players Cooper and Dino make their way through the clearing. I froze in place behind the tree, hoping that they didn't see me.
Cooper grabbed Dino's elbow. "This is stupid. You can't do this drunk."
"I'm not. I'll be fine."
Which seemed crazy. He’d played several games of battleshots. Even if he was winning, he still had several vodka shots. He had to have at least a buzz.
Not believing my eyes, Dino crunched down and transformed. I wasn't sure what he was turning into, but he got hairy, and his knees went backward. If I didn't know better, he was turning into a wolf.
But that couldn't be. I collapsed on the tree and caused the branch to break.
By the time I pushed myself off the tree, both of the hockey players were on me.
Cooper was the first to say, "Are you okay?"
I looked up at him and shook my head, which only caused things to sway too much. "Yeah. Just had to pee."
Definitely no werewolves here.
Which meant only one thing—I was too drunk for my own good for even thinking that one of them could possibly turn into a werewolf.
If I knew what was good for me, this would be the last time I drank, and it was time to focus on schooling.

Present time
Seeinganewunidentifiednumber meant that it was going straight to voicemail. Why do they even let spam calls happen?
I waited to see if there was a voicemail.
After a moment or two, I got the notification. So I listened to the new voicemail.
"Hello Ms. Symon. We got your application and unfortunately, we don't have any positions open at this moment with the Legacy. Your grades are impeccable and you have all the certification equivalents that we would want in a therapist, but we would love for you to have a little more experience, especially if we need to sponsor your work visa."
I sighed. It would have been so cool to work for the Legacy. I'd adored hockey my whole life.
I had a feeling that would happen since I was not sure the team meant to post the therapist job. It was only live for twenty minutes, but I applied anyway since my dad always told me to shoot for the stars.
