That was when I saw my ginger lover come up to the stair landing. He came over to me and pulled me close into a hardly appropriate kiss in public.
When he pulled back, I asked, "How did you know? How are you done already?"
"No media for me since I've been sick and apparently didn't let Spencer Levine down to the locker room. So I figured it would be good to come to you and we can go back to our hotel."
Chapter 48
Eoghan
Lookingatmywatch,I hoped everything was set up for my plans. It'd taken so much effort to get done at the last minute, but my main concern was the fact that we needed to be back at the hotel. Emmy could go to the states, and the team had to take the bus to Prague.
I just hoped that we were safe since the first full moon passed prior to us leaving for Munich and she was fully healthy. But there was a chance she would come straight back to me.
Scuba should already be at the Rathaus-Glockenspiel plaza. I really wanted to get some photos of us together.
As we wandered around the plaza, I treated us to Bavarian hot dogs. Thankfully, she didn't get any toppings that might make a mess on her top.
The massive hot dog was rather tasty and was the perfect walking food.
As it got close to the top of the hour, we looked up to the old clock in preparation for the figurines to move about. They were really cool with the unique figures that looked like they were dancing.
We both finished our hot dogs as we took our positions.
I smelled Scuba and Cartsy lurking in the background, which made me happy. I looked over my shoulder and saw them with their phones out and in perfect position to get a photo.
Then we heard the chimes and saw the figures dance around in a little circle. I was absolutely entranced by the clock. It was absolutely amazing to see something so old and intricate still moving.
As soon as the last chime sounded, I dropped my knee and dug into my pocket. Of course, the ring box got caught, so I had to pull it a little to get it out of my shorts. Thankfully, she was still looking at the clock and didn’t realize I had torn my pocket a little to get the black velvet box out.
I could hear the clicks of cameras taking photos. But I didn't care.
I cleared my throat, causing Emmy to turn. Her face absolutely glowed as she realized what was happening.
"My Emmy. You pushed me to be a better man and taught me so many new things that have kept both of us healthy and well. I love you with all my heart. You're the star of my moon. I look forward to waking up beside you whenever we can. Will you make me the happiest man alive by doing me the favor of marrying my sorry ass?"
She cried as her head bobbed up and down. I took the diamond ring out of the box and placed it on her finger.
I really hoped that she liked the blue teardrop diamond. It was a little bit of a risk since I wasn't sure if she liked colored diamonds. But it wasn't too large, and blue was her favorite color.
She pulled me into a kiss. I couldn't help myself. I slipped my tongue into her mouth and threaded my fingers into her luscious brown hair. It wasn't a church kiss since I didn't care. She was mine, and I wanted the whole world to know.
Yeah, it was a little bit possessive, but I didn't care. She was my mate.
Hell, the whole engagement was me just making my claim on my mate in the human world.
Once I was done kissing her, I realized that Scuba and Cartsy were whistling and hollering in the background. Emmy blushed and buried her face into my neck. I eagerly wrapped my arms around her to protect her while she was embarrassed by the display.
Sadly, the clock chimed again, which meant our perfect moment was over and we needed to get going.
As we walked back to the hotel, she said, "Thank you for making me so damn happy."

Todaywasoneofthose rare days when Emmy and I attended the same AA meeting. She still feared having a conflict of interest, so she would normally go to meetings in Burnaby. But she was running late and decided to tag along with my meeting.
