“Besides if you screw this up, I’m pretty sure you won’t survive Bree, Luna, and Presley.” Oliver chuckles.

“Presley is pretty shifty lately.” Zac widens his eyes in emphasis. “I wouldn’t test her.”

It’s my turn to laugh. All fear is gone and I have these guys to thank for it.

Aurora

“How are you feeling?” Presley asks from her place near the fruit platter. She is a trooper, wearing a dress and heels, dealing with hours of prep for tonight. Eight and a half months pregnant she showed up, put on a bridesmaid’s dress and is ready to walk down the aisle.

I know she’d rather be doing anything else. Sleeping, or getting a foot massage. Yet here she is happily trotting along with me and the girls. The one who several months ago had no hope there were any truly good men out there.

“When are you and Zac going to make it official?”

She practically chokes on the watermelon she’s eating. “Um.” Clearing her throat she laughs it off. “No rush, I just allowed myself to fully relax and accept we are a team. Let’s not go creating more pressure.”

“Didn’t he ask you once?”

“We both know Zac is a good guy. Of course he asked, but it was a need to make wrongs right. If, and that is a huge, if I get married again, I want it to be my last. I want it to be forever and not driven by a pregnancy. We are fine where we are for now. We can revisit the idea when he is knee deep in diapers.”

“He reminds me a lot of Daxton when he found out he was going to be a daddy. It’s adorable how gooey big strong men can get whenever there is a baby involved. Especially when that baby is theirs.”

She smiles.

“I’m happy for you ya know.” Her smile widens. “And I’m happy for you.”

The door to the room opens and in walk Bree and Luna, each carrying two bouquets of flowers. This event may be small, but we didn’t pinch on the decorations, flowers, and other traditions. Jace told them to make sure I had everything I wanted. But reality is, all I really want is him.

“We brought flowers and a gift from your husband-to-be,” Luna announces and her and Bree close the door behind them. “He said to tell you this is new and blue.”

I take the small box that she holds out and feel a rush of excitement.

“Open it,” Bree expresses with the same amount of excitement I feel. Pulling the ribbon, I let it fall to the floor and lift the lid. I hear a couple gasps, but all I can do is stare. It’s gorgeous. A gorgeous bracelet with diamonds and a few charms hanging elegantly.

The first charm is a flower, and at first I am not sure what it could mean, but I know it’s beautiful.

“Read the card.” Luna opens it and passes it to me.

“I’m in the other room, impatiently waiting to become your husband. But while I wait, know that I am forever yours, always thinking about you and grateful you waited for me to find my way to you. The first charm is a lotus flower. It is a symbol of resilience and strength, for how far we’ve come and how far I know we will go. The heart charm, well that is easy, because you hold mine, for now and forever.”

My throat feels so incredibly tight with emotion.

“The blue jewel means serenity, stability, and inspiration. Because every single day you inspire me in so many ways but most of all to be the man you deserve. You make me dream big and that is something I never thought I’d ever have. You give me so much Aurora, and I can’t wait to marry you. Now put this on and get your sweet ass down here so I can say I do, and we can sneak off somewhere to consummate this thing.”

I laugh and so do the girls all with tears in our eyes.

“Leave it to Jace to take a sweet moment and make it dirty,” Bree says with a laugh. She is right, he does it every time. But for that I love him even more.

After the bracelet is in place and the flowers are in hand, we each leave the room and make it downstairs. At a small little bed and breakfast outside of Bear Creek, with beautiful scenery and the feel of home, I marry my best friend and the love of my life.
