“Hey, beautiful.” He stares into my eyes in a way that sends everything inside me into a free fall. “I kinda missed you.”
My mouth slams back into his, not caring about the audience. I yank at his recently tugged-on hair, and he groans into my mouth. He can do whatever he wants to me right now in the middle of Felicia and Jess’s living room. I won’t stop him. Benji, however…
“The two of you are making me nauseous.” He grips my hips and pulls me off Jordan. Once he sets me on the ground, he gently pushes me toward Felicia behind me. “You take yours, and I’ll take mine.”
She giggles and leads me away.
I look back at Jordan, his hair even messier now that my hands dragged through it. “Bye,” I say.
“Bye, beautiful.” He smiles as Benji nudges him in the opposite direction to the kitchen.
She lets me go once we reach the far side of the living room. As far away from Jordan as possible without making me go outside.
“Were we really that bad?” I ask.
“Yes. But in a disgustingly cute kind of way.”
“Who’s disgustingly cute?” Jess’s sister, Vee, steps beside Felicia.
“Callie and her boyfriend,” Felicia says. “You missed them practically ripping each other’s clothes off.”
“Reason to never go to the bathroom. You miss almost nudity.” Vee checks over her shoulder, scanning the room. “Which one is he?”
“He’s not in here,” I say. “They took him away even though I’ve suffered a week without him.”
I pout out a lip, and Sappy Felicia sighs.
“If you promise to keep it PG in front of the other guests, I’ll let him come back in.”
A shrug answers her, but it must be enough reassurance for her to retrieve him for me. As soon as she leaves, Jess rushes over, her eyes wild and nostrils flaring. “Where’s Felicia going?”
“To get Callie’s X-rated boyfriend,” Vee says.
I laugh, but it cuts off when Jess mutters, “Fuck,” and walks away.
Before I can sort out what her deal is, Jordan pushes through the swinging door, his sights set on me. He stalks toward me, eyes smoldering more with each step. Already breaking my half-made promise to Felicia, he walks straight into me, not even acknowledging Vee as he slides his arms around my waist and dips his head down, his mouth latching on to my neck. I step back to keep my balance, but he and his hot lips move with me.
I giggle. “Jordan, stop.”
He listens to my halfhearted protest by dropping his hands to my ass and pulling me closer.
“Sorry, Vee.” I angle my head, trying to see around him. “My boyfriend’s apparently an untrained animal.” I push on his chest. “Jordan, I want you to meet Jess’s sister.”
He growls into my neck, his breath tickling my skin. After a second, he pulls back and winks. I smile, well aware we’ll break the sort-of promise at least one more time tonight.
“Jordan, this is Jess’s older sister, Vee.”
He moves beside me and tacks on a grin before he spins around. The second he’s face-to-face with Vee, his expression vanishes, the color draining from his cheeks. She looks just as shocked, but it’s quickly replaced with something else. Her lip quivers, and she blinks several times like she’s fighting off tears.
“We’ve met,” she says, not looking at me anymore. “A few times actually.”
I probably take longer than I should to figure out that they fucked. A few times actually.
And the realization feels like a slap in the face.
The rest falls into place after that. Her guy from winter break who disappeared, Jess’s odd behavior when Jordan first came around, and the return of it a few minutes ago.
“Oh,” I say, surprised I even managed that much.
