He parked the truck and climbed out. I waited for him to come around to my side, and when he opened my door, I took his hand and slid out. We both knew I could jump out on my own, but I thought it was sweet he wanted to help me. His fingers threaded through mine, and we headed toward the small building.

By the time we were seated next to each other in the back of the helicopter, headsets on, adrenaline pumped through my veins. Logan leaned closer, and his warm breath whispered along my ear. “Excited or nervous?”

“Excited.” I giggled. “Maybe a little nervous.”

He wrapped one arm around my shoulders and pulled me closer into his side. Seeing the view of the mountains that surrounded Half Moon Lake amazed me, an experience I was sure I’d never forget. The pilot pointed out the spot where a famous movie was filmed and other well-known landmarks, as well as some I wasn’t familiar with.

“Oh my God, look.” I pointed out the small window as we flew over the town I grew up in. “That's my high school.” After a minute, I spotted the river that separated Half Moon Lake and my town. “And there’s the river.”

Logan smiled at me. “We’re about to fly over the lake.”

A heartbeat later, the large crescent-shaped lake came into view.

“There’s The Dock,” I said, pointing out the window again. “Oh, and look, the beach with the big water slide. We should take the girls sometime this summer. That slide is so much fun.”

“They’d love that.” He pressed his lips to my temple. “I’m enjoying watching you experience this.”

I turned toward him. “Thank you for doing this. It’s literally the most exciting thing I’ve ever done.”

Before I knew it, we were landing, and the tour was over. I bounced with excitement as we walked to the truck, skipping ahead before spinning back toward him.

“That was amazing.” I took two steps, closing the distance, and wrapped my arms around his neck. “Thank you for bringing me here.”

He bent his knees and locked his arms around my back, lifting me off the ground to bring me eye level with him. His mouth slanted over mine, leaving me breathless, and my core hummed with desire.

I pulled back. “Take me home, Logan.”

His lips lifted slightly. “Didn’t you want to grab dinner?”

I shook my head. “I need you.” I’d never felt such intense desire like this with anyone I’d dated. But being with him was quickly becoming an addiction. “Now. Dinner after.”

His pupils blew wide, making his caramel-colored eyes almost black. He loosened his arms and let me slide slowly down his body, his hard cock pressing along my belly.

“I will always give you what you need, sweetheart.” His gaze burned into me. “Let’s go home.”

Home. The idea that one day his home would be our home settled over me like a warm blanket, images of what that would look like flashing through my mind. Lounging in bed together on a lazy Saturday morning, making breakfast together as a family, piling in the car to go to a soccer game, going to The Dock for lunch. All of it overwhelmed me, leaving me feeling like I was floating.

I pulled out of his arms and sent him a saucy smile. He raised an eyebrow.

“I’ll race you.”

His lips twitched. “And what do I get if I win?”

My stomach flipped at the ideas that raced through my mind. “Anything you want.”

“Anything?”

I nodded, pulling my bottom lip between my teeth.

He angled his head in the direction of the truck. “I’ll give you a head start.”

Giggling, I turned and took off at a sprint. I was almost to the truck when large, muscular arms wrapped around my waist, lifting me off the ground.

“Got you,” he whispered against my ear. “Now, for my reward.”

“And what’s that?”

“You’ll see.” He set me down and opened the passenger door.
