Without waiting, I followed the instructions on each pregnancy test and kept them on the sink after washing my hands.
“Kiara, I know you’re in there. Come out, I have a surprise for you!”
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I stepped out.
“Why are you looking so pale? Are you alright?” Ethan asked, his hand checking my forehead, which made me grin.
“It’s nothing, what’s the surprise?”
“Khalid and I talked to Mr. Stone, and he agreed to the auction as soon as I told him about you and that you are Damini Sharma’s daughter.” He grinned as he explained that Mr. Stone would help set up the auction and Khalid would help with the media and security. While we had to bring her paintings. All the money raised in the auction would go to different children charities all over the world.
“I am so proud of you!” I grinned and hugged him, his soft laugh filling my ears when he hugged me tightly.
The beep went off in the bathroom. My eyes widened when Ethan frowned, “What was that?”
I couldn’t wait. “I took three pregnancy tests, Ethan.”
He raised his eyebrows, “No way, I bought one for you.Look.” He showed me the test, and I asked him why he bought met one. He smiled sheepishly, “Because I thought you might be pregnant with all the puking. Not to mention, your breasts have gotten bigger.”
“Really?” I asked, looking down at them. “Are you sure?”
“I might need to feel them just to be sure—” he grinned when he saw my face. “Sorry. Now check the test. I am impatient.”
I clutched his hand, “Come with me.”
He squeezed my palm, his eyes softening, “Of course, Bella.”
Taking a deep breath, I opened the door and bit my bottom lip to keep it from trembling when we both saw the results. A sharp exhale left my lips as I checked all three of them, tears welling in my eyes. I turned to see Ethan, his hand squeezing mine tightly.
“Kiara,” he whispered, blinking at the tests. I let out a nervous chuckle when he picked one up and saw the plus sign, a huge grin covering his lips. “I can’t believe it. Come here.”
I let out a soft laugh when he hugged me, pressing me to his chest as happy tears streamed down my face. Ethan pulled away only to keep his hand on my stomach. “You’re pregnant,” he said, kissing my temple.
“I am pregnant,” I said, my voice sounding different to my ears. “Thank you, Ethan.”
He had a dreamy look on his face, his eyes crinkling when he smiled at me. “Don’t thank me, Bella, we both made this baby.”
Keeping the positive tests on the sink, I tipped on my toes and kissed him. Our lips met in a slow languid kiss, our tongues dancing together with soft touches, tasting each other. His arms tightened around my waist, pulling me closer as his tongue swept over my bottom lip.
“Can I make love to you?” he murmured between our kisses and joked, “Make another baby, perhaps?”
Gazing at his handsome face, I said, “In that case, I want a soccer team. Bunch of little Ethan and Kiaras running around.”
I chuckled when he scooped me in his arms and laid me down on the bed to make love to me.
* * *
It had been a week since I realized I was pregnant. We had gone to the doctor and Ethan was with me the whole time when she did my check-up and told a sour-faced Ethan to get out. If I wasn’t on the bed, I would’ve laughed at him.
I was six weeks in, and my breasts were getting bigger. Never thought I would like them big, but they hurt at night. Ethan promised to massage them whenever I wanted him to, but I knew he just wanted to grope my breasts.Perv.
“Not this one either,” Ethan frowned at the crib which I had found the cutest. He held it and gave it a little shake, “It’s not sturdy enough.”
I sighed, “Babe, we are having a human baby. It is sturdy.”
“We will look for another one. Come on, I saw one at that side.” He held my hand and dragged me to another aisle of baby cribs. I awed and cooed at all the cute, tiny stuff while he made sure the crib we were going to buy would last along with the baby car seat.
I had told him to wait until my first trimester passes before we buy anything. He gave me a stern look and said that we were reserving things for the future and the store would deliver it to us once we were ready.
When he talked to another scared employee, asking for a sturdier crib, I smiled up at him. The employee scurried away to find the crib he asked for, leaving us alone. “You’d makethebest baby daddy ever,” I whispered in his ear.
He smiled down at me, his eyes taking in my small bump through the dress. “You bet I would. He or she is going to deserve the best we have to offer,” he said, caressing my stomach.
“I have you, so I am not worried.”
He kissed the top of my hair as we looked through different pregnancy pillows. “When should we tell our parents? Liam already knows I am hiding something because I try to be with you as much as possible.”
“Anya and Katherine are the same. They know I am hiding something. We can tell our parents in a few days?”
“Sure, Bella.”
