“Are you going to come without permission again?” he asked as he caressed her ass.
“No, Sir,” she whimpered.
Patrick chuckled. “Somehow, I don’t believe you, but I think that’s OK.”
He helped her off his lap and pressed a kiss to her abdomen. “I love how you take everything I give you.”
“Hmmm,” she said.
His girl was floating high in subspace, he thought with a smirk. Standing, he lifted her into his arms and laid her in bed where he curled up beside her.
When the fog seemed to clear, he helped her roll over, so she was facing him. “How was that?” he asked, tracing her cheek with his finger.
Austin gave him a tired smile. “Pretty amazing as far as punishment goes.”
Patrick chuckled. “Good. That’s what I was aiming for. I know you didn’t deliberately disobey me, but I wasn’t going to pass up an opportunity to spank you either.”
Austin snuggled against his chest. I’m glad you didn’t pass on that, Sir.”
He stroked her hair. “Are you hungry?”
Austin nodded. “Famish, I skipped lunch.”
Patrick scowled. “Why was that?”
Austin cleared her throat. “I was kind of getting my client out of jail.”
Patrick let his face relax. “And then you got him off in the back of a limo. I hope you don’t offer such good service to all your clients, Miss Yates,” he teased.
Austin giggled. “Only the ones who look as hot as you in a suit.”
Patrick gave her a mock glare.
When they were done snuggling, Austin picked up her phone and scrolled through it. “Want to go to Hunter’s club? The grand opening celebration is still happening. Some big pop star is making an appearance tonight.”
Patrick scowled. “Why would we do that? It’s going to be crawling with press.”
“Exactly. You were at the soft opening. It would look good for you to just carry on as usual. I talked to a PR firm this afternoon. It’s something I do for all my high-profile cases. They think it would be a good way to get in front of this scandal and start controlling the story a little bit.”
Patrick sat up and ran a hand through his hair. They’d been having a such a nice time. “I don’t think so, baby girl.”
Austin frowned. “You’re supposed to be listening to me.”
“You, yes. Not some PR firm. I just think they’re wrong about this. Me storming out and going off on the press is why I’m being targeted for this. I have a hard time controlling myself around them.”
“You have me to help you with that. I just want to change the narrative a bit. Right now, you look guilty to the public because you’re not saying anything. They like statements. They want to see you living your life, not hiding under baseball caps and sunglasses.”
Patrick dug his fingers into the bedspread. “The answer is no, Austin. I’ll go to dinner somewhere, but we are not making a spectacle of ourselves at a night club.”
Austin wanted to argue, he could see it in her eyes. But they were in his domain now, and she would listen to him.
“I’ll even let you pick the restaurant,” he said, giving her an olive branch.
That made her smile. “OK. I’ll take that. Will you meet my PR firm? I’m not saying you have to follow their ideas, just hear what they have to say.”
Patrick sighed. “I’ll think about it. Now let’s go eat dinner before I decide to tie you up and fuck you instead.”
They showered together and managed to get out with only a few kisses and gentle caresses. When they were dried off and dressed, Austin got on her phone and arranged a reservation.
