Austin grimaced. “That’s why I hesitated to tell you.”
Patrick trailed a finger down her cheek. “I’m glad you didn’t. Hiding things from me is against the rules, baby girl.”
Austin nodded. “I know. I’m glad I told you. I just want to forget it all again.”
“Well we can’t do that, but we can keep our focus on it to a minimum.”
They sat quietly working on their phones for the rest of the trip. An hour later, they were in a car on their way to Solitaire.
Eli and Holly had already arrived, and Garrett would be coming in later tonight.
“I completely forgot to tell you, Garrett asked me to be Isabell’s backup trainer and he won’t be in until late tonight, so you’re both going to be under my supervision.”
Austin swallowed. She wasn’t sure how she felt about seeing Patrick dominate another submissive.
“What’s wrong?”
Austin shook her head.
“Please don’t lie to me.”
“It was a quiet request, but the dominant bite was there, nonetheless.
Austin sighed. “You’re not like… going to fuck her or anything are you?”
Patrick’s stern gaze softened. “Shit. I’m sorry. We’ve never really talked about this. No, baby girl. I may have been known to play with a lot of women, but I have no intention of fucking anyone else. I’ll just be supervising the training portion of tonight as far as Solitaire house protocols are concerned. Yes, if she fucks up, it’s my job to correct or punish her, but nothing sexual.”
Austin sagged against the leather seat. “Sorry. I just don’t think I could handle seeing you with someone else.”
Patrick pulled her close. “Are you saying you might want to continue exploring with me after your eight weeks are up?”
Austin blushed and gave him a one-shouldered shrug. “Maybe.”
He kissed her hard as they pulled to a stop in front of Solitaire. “Me too. But let’s get through tonight first and then we can talk about that.”
When they stepped into the lobby of Solitaire, Austin spotted Lance at the reception desk. He had his headphones on, and his shirtsleeves rolled up as he tapped away at some keys. Patrick turned to her and pointed to the floor near one of the couches. “Go kneel there while I talk to Master Lance.”
Austin frowned. “I want to hear what he has to say too, Sir.”
Patrick’s gaze was stern. “Are you arguing with me, Austin?”
Shoulders slumped, she moved to the couch and dropped to her knees in front of it.
Lance looked up when Patrick leaned over the reception desk and thumped him on the head. Setting his headphones aside, he looked around the room until his eyes landed on Austin.
Hey there pretty lady,” he said with a smile before turning his attention to Patrick.
She gave him a small wave.
They were speaking in hushed tones so Austin couldn’t make out anything they were saying. Why was he shutting her out?
After several minutes, Patrick rose and called for her. “Austin, can you come over here please?”
She quickly scrambled to her feet and jogged the short distance to the desk.
“Was it just killing you to not know what we were saying?” Lance teased.
Patrick scowled at him, but Austin ignored it and laughed. “Yes. Especially since I know I’m the one who started this little pow wow.”
