Holly Barrett

Garrett, Isabelle, Patrick, Austin, and Lance all went on the list because they seemed to be victims in all of this. Elijah was an enemy of Nicholas, though she didn’t fully understand why, and Holly was just as pissed at her dad as Patrick was.

Everything circled back to Nicholas Sutton, but she didn’t know what he was up to. He was in prison or on house arrest during most of this. His power may have been dampened but it wasn’t completely stripped away. Powerful men like him didn’t go down without a fight.

That brought her to Grant Sterling. He’d been a name hovering in the background but maybe it warranted a little more digging. Before she did that, she needed to make a phone call first.

As it rang on the other end, she paced in her tiny kitchen. A loud thump and an angry voice on the other side of the wall told her the neighbor woke up in a fabulous mood again. His poor wife. A new apartment was definitely in order.

“Moss Tech, Kimberly speaking.”

The friendly voice drew her back to the phone in her hand. “Kimberly, hi. It’s Marissa Sullivan. I’m supposed to be making an appointment to sign some paperwork for the new job. Can I come in this afternoon?”

Maybe they would never be a couple again, but she deserved to give herself this chance to make a name for herself in the tech industry and Lance was the best person to set her on that path.
