“Clever girls,” she heard Ripley say when Marissa shot at him. She must have missed because he took off running after her. At least this time she had shoes on.
Hands tangled in her hair, bringing her to a screeching halt. She struggled to get away, but it was pointless. Then he turned her to face him and dipped his head for a kiss. But he didn’t just kiss her, his lips crushed against hers, his tongue invaded her mouth, and he took complete ownership of her in that one action.
Her weapon clattered to the ground, and she wrapped her arms around him. He pushed them against a nearby tree, his mouth never leaving hers.
When it felt like he was stealing her very last breath, she pushed against his chest, and he broke the kiss. Then he whipped his gun around and fired a bullet right into her chest.
“Oh, that was rotten.”
“See you later, baby girl.”
With a huff, she picked up her gun and took off running back towards the graveyard, her hands in the air. Behind her, she could hear Ripley laughing, so she flipped him off with her free hand.
Another dart popped her in the ass, but since she was dead and couldn’t shoot back, there was nothing she could do about it.
When she reached the graveyard, Adara added a point to the Doms team, and Olivia grabbed a bottle of water and looked at the score.
The subs weren’t doing too bad and were only two hits behind.
“It sounds like Marissa is causing quite the stir among the other team,” Adara said.
Olivia grinned. “It’s fun to watch. I’m going to have her teach me how to self-suspend later if you’re interested.”
Adara held up her hands. “Far too athletic for me. There’s a reason I volunteered to be the scorekeeper.”
Her time in the graveyard was up, so she tossed the bottle in the recycling can and picked up her weapon again. “See you later, Adara.”
As she stepped out of the safe zone, she fired at Peter’s head and smirked when it bounced off him, and he whirled with his gun raised.
“Nicely done, Ms. Harrigan.” He bowed dramatically as they passed. Back in the forest, she decided to try to hunt Ripley down. Something told her he hadn’t even been hit once yet, and she wanted to be the one to take him out.
As she came through a clearing of trees, Marissa came stomping by, with Lance behind her, laughing. Olivia raised her toy gun and fired, hitting Lance right in the glasses with a dart, causing it to stick to the lens
Marissa grinned and high-fived her as they passed.
A dart bounced off her shoulder, and she looked around to see who it was. Ripley poked his head out from behind a tree and winked at her. The bastard.
She fell into step behind Lance and followed the couple back to the graveyard.
For the next half hour, she ran through the forest searching for Ripley, and every time, he would sneak up on her and take her out. When she was sent back to the graveyard for what felt like the dozenth time, Alley was there too and instead of getting back into the game, she pulled Olivia over to the subs home base to pick up new weapons and more ammo.
“We’ve almost tied them. How are we going to even the score?”
Olivia laughed as she tucked bullets into her pocket. “Honestly, I don’t care about winning. I just want to take Ripley out one time.”
“That fucker hasn’t been hit once, so I support this mission. Want me to help?”
Olivia nodded with an ear-splitting grin on her face. “Yes, please. Let’s do it.”
Just as they were getting ready to walk away from their home base again, two Doms, Edith, and Noah, came through the fence with their hands up.
“Ripley still hasn’t been hit,” Adara said, shaking her head as she took down the score.
“He’s a slippery fucker,” Noah said. “Lurks in the trees without anyone being able to see him.”
“We’ll find him,” Alley said with a smug expression.
“You stay behind me,” she encouraged when they were among the trees. “That way, if he gets me, you can take him out.”
