“I took an Uber to the commuter lot, and someone picked me up.”

“Can I give you a ride back to the hotel?”

She nodded. “Sure. I have a feeling you’re going to insist anyway.”

Noah laughed. “You are correct. Get in.”

She slid in, and he closed her door before going back around to his side.

He enjoyed having her in his car. That realization made him smile.

“So….” She said.

He chuckled. “So. What did you think?”

“I thought it was amazing. If you weren’t a member, I might consider joining.”

He frowned as he eased into traffic. “Why should my membership stop you from enjoying yourself?”

Reva shrugged. “I don’t know. You’ve expressed attraction. I don’t want to make things weird for you.”

He reached over and squeezed her shoulder. “That is thoughtful of you, Reva. But I’m a big boy, and I’ve already told you I have no intention of acting on my attraction. I understand that it’s inappropriate.”

“How old was Elise?”

He frowned. “Does it matter?”

“I’m just trying to figure out your type.”

“If you’re asking if I have a thing for younger women the answer is yes. But that’s not the only thing I appreciate. Melinda was my age.”

“Is it like a Daddy thing?”

Noah laughed. “Nope. Not my thing.”

She blew out a breath. “OK.”

“OK? What does that even mean, Reva?”

She threw her hands up in the air. “I don’t know. It just means, OK. This is all very weird for me, Noah.”

“And you think it’s an everyday occurrence for me?”

She laughed. “I certainly hope not.”

“Join the club. I’ll leave you alone, I promise.”

“What if I don’t want you to leave me alone?”

He gripped the steering wheel and forced himself not to look at her. “Damn it, Reva. Don’t say things like that. I’m practically a stranger. Especially in that arena.”

“You’re right. I’m sorry. It was a moment of weakness. I mean who am I kidding? You’re Parker’s dad. This would only end embarrassingly bad.”

He watched her chew on her lip out of the corner of his eye.

“Then again,” she continued. “How much more humiliating can it get than being dumped and finding out my boyfriend has been cheating on me for five years all on the day he asked me to marry him?”

“Depends on how far down the rabbit hole you go with me.”
