“So fucking hot. And his mouth? I mean I like to read smut and I’ve watched my fair share of porn and none of that was enough to prepare me for Noah Jasper’s mouth.”
“It’s amazing what twenty-six letters can do to our brains and our bodies.”
The conversation drifted from topic to topic for the next half hour as the women laughed and got to know each other.
“We’re having a subbie sleepover here next weekend. You should come.”
Reva bit her lip. “I’m not sure if Noah will let me. He’s basically told me if I’m not working or in class I have to be… available to him. At least for the next month. After that I don’t know what will happen.”
“What do you mean?” Carrie asked.
“We signed a contract that has an expiration date. It’s how he’s done it with all of his submissives.”
Darci lifted an eyebrow. “That doesn’t surprise me, but he needs to get over that and let things happen as they happen. Doms like to control things, but going as far as controlling the length of the relationship before it even starts feels like self sabotage.”
“That’s what I thought. But when we were negotiating things, he did put in a clause that says we can extend it. That wasn’t there originally. But it’s how things went with…” she cleared her throat and dropped her head. These women had all been some form of friendly with Elise. How would they feel about her bringing her up? It hadn’t occurred to her that they might be comparing her to the other woman.
“She’s gone, honey. And has been for a long time.” Darci said, gripping her hand. “You don’t have to worry about bringing her up. We’ve all healed. It was awful what happened. I know that more than anyone here. But don’t try to compare yourself to her. And don’t let him get away with ever comparing you to her. At least not to your face. That wouldn’t be fair to you.”
Reva squeezed her hand in return. “Thank you for that. And he never has tried to do anything like that. He’s mentioned her a few times, but I’ve never felt like he was comparing me.”
“That’s because you’re incomparable, little siren.”
She jumped at the sound of his voice and turned to find him standing behind her.
“Noah, I’m so sorry. We weren’t talking shit about you, I swear.”
He reached over and squeezed Darci’s shoulder. “I know. Thank you for taking Reva into your group so easily.”
Reva blushed and looked up at him. “Hi. Everything OK with Gage and Ripley?”
“All good. Are you ready to go home, or do you want to stay for awhile?”
She glanced at her watch. It was later than she thought it was.
“We can go. I’m sure you have early morning stuff, and I need to spend the day at the library.”
She stood and took his hand, and waved to the other women.
“Don’t forget about next weekend,” Olivia called.
Noah turned and looked at Olivia. “I forgot to tell you that you’re wanted in the bondage room.”
“Daddy?”
Noah nodded and pulled Reva along to the door with him.
In the car he reached for her hand. “I have to go to a dinner tomorrow night. Will you join me?”
She frowned. “It’s kind of last minute. I was planning to spend the day in my pajamas in the library working on my dissertation.”
Truthfully she didn’t want to go to dinner because she always felt out of place at those things. Parker had taken her to several in their years together but he never seemed to like what she wore or how she did her hair and then when she got there she would be wildly out of place with out of style clothes that barely met the dress code requirements.
“You can still do that. We don’t have to be at dinner until seven-thirty. I can have a stylist at the apartment by six. You can have a full eight hours in the library if you want.”
She frowned. “A stylist?”
“It’s black tie. Most of the women will have stylists for the evening.”
