“Yep. I’ll call you when we’re on our way.”

He sat down on the couch and tried to relax his shoulders as he picked up the kindle, she’d left lying there.

His phone buzzed in the middle of a paragraph from one of her romance novels, and he dropped the book to answer it.

“She’s not here.”

Panic set in and he jumped up, prepared to run to his car and go find her.

“What do you mean? You were supposed to fucking have eyes on her.”

“We did. But it looks like something happened and they made her change, so I didn’t recognize her when she walked out. I’m going through security footage now. Thankfully, the university police are cooperating.”

He had to give him credit, Gage moved fast.

“Stay at the apartment,” Gage ordered before Noah could say he was on his way.

“I’m not going to sit here on my ass and wait for something to happen.”

“If it was kidnapping it was likely for ransom to pay off Parker’s debt. They’re going to contact one or the other of you and I need you to be somewhere you can do her the most good. That’s going to be in that apartment with the new equipment we put in the office. So get your ass in there and wait for the call.”

Fuck. Gage was right. He hated when Gage was right. But he ran to the office and switched on the computer.

“Call as soon as you have something on her whereabouts. Get Silas and his wife involved if you have to.”

Michael Silas was the chief of police for D.C. Metro and a member of Club Exposure. His wife and submissive was a city council woman who was contemplating a run for mayor of D.C. She had considerable pull. Possibly even more pull than her husband.

“I’m already ahead of you. Peter and Ripley have started a search in the area. We’ll bring her home safely.”

God damn it, they better. His heart couldn’t handle another loss.

This was why he’d avoided getting attached all these years.

“I’m calling Parker.”

His tone left no room for debate, so even if he’d wanted to, he didn’t argue.

“Keep me in the loop if he has anything important to say.”

Gage hung up, and Noah dialed his son.

“If they hurt her because of your stupidity, I’ll make sure you pay.”

“What the fuck are you talking about, Noah?”

“They have Reva.”

“Who?”

“The people you owe money to. They have her. And I don’t appreciate you putting her in danger that way. She didn’t deserve that.”

Parker stayed quiet, and Noah knew that everything he’d discovered about his step son was true.

“What exactly were you thinking not coming to me or your mother?”

“Mom is broke too. She doesn’t want you to know.”

Noah dragged a hand through his hair. Of course his ex was broke. That’s why she didn’t want to go back to her maiden name. The Jasper name at least bought her some favor and standing.
