We pulled up to Buck’s parents’ estate, and it was only a few cars lined up on one side of the circular driveway. We decided to only invite close family and of course Kasha was here. I asked him was it okay for Jazz to come and he agreed only because he hadn’t slept with her, or even tried to. He parked his car closest to the door behind Stacks’ car.

“I’m gone beat this nigga’s ass. The fuck he gone park in front the door for,” he fussed as he got out before rounding the car to come help me out. Laughing, I took his hand and allowed him to escort me inside of the house.

“There go the guests of honor,” his mama announced as we came into view. “Nic, baby. You look so pretty.” She beamed as she pulled me in for a hug.

“Dang, Ma. I must look like shit because you ain’t acknowledge me yet.” I couldn’t help the laugh that escaped my lips because he really looked butt hurt.

“Crybaby ass nigga,” I heard Stacks’ voice. When I looked up, he was coming around the corner with a little boy that looked to be about my brother’s age.

“Shut up, nigga. And why you got yo’ car parked so close for when I got a pregnant girl that don’t need to be doing all that walking?” He had a mug on his face while he spoke to his brother and Stacks was clearly ignoring him.

“Stop whining. I hope you grow out of that shit before your kid gets here.”

“Jackson! Watch your mouth before I embarrass you,” his mama warned, and his only response was a smirk before he walked off. We walked further inside, and I hugged my mama and brother. I saw Saint and Eve along with my cousin Harlow, auntie Alli, and Jazz.

“Hey! I’m so glad y’all could come.” I hugged each of them and noticed the look Saint had on his face. He was looking at Buck, who had a similar look on his face.

“Small world, nigga.” Saint smirked, slapping hands with Buck.

“Clearly. I’m glad we cool, or this would be a murder scene instead of a gender reveal,” Buck countered. Those two went back and forth for a while, talking trash to each other while I went around the room and talked to everyone here.

“Where’s Mel?” I asked. I noticed my sister wasn’t here, and she was the damn host.

“Her and Kasha had to make a run, but they should be back shortly,” my mama informed me.

“Girl, are you excited to find out what you’re having?” Jazz asked as she took a bite of the mini sandwich that was amongst the variety of food that was displayed around the dining area.

“I am. I’m ready to see what I’m having and I’m ready for them to get here.” I laughed.

“I’ma pray for you. Any child of Buck’s gone be a piece of work.” We both laughed at her comment because she never lied. I prayed every day that my child didn’t act like their daddy, but I feel like I’ll be in a losing battle when it comes to that. We sat around and talked while we ate. Mel and Kasha still hadn’t come back, and I’ve been here for almost two hours. Just as I was about to call Mel’s ass, she came inside with Kasha trailing behind. I saw her go straight to Stacks, and I smirked because she was clearly feeling him more than she put. Especially if she left her son with him.

“Hey, I’m back,” she announced.

“You better be glad you walked through that door when you did, because I was about to call and curse you out real bad for not being here. Where have y’all been?” I questioned, with one hand on my hip and the other resting on my stomach.

“Girl, hush. We went to get what we needed for the reveal. If you be quiet, we can go outside and get this started.” She walked off and told everyone that they were ready to start the reveal. Shaking my head, I followed my sister outside, with Buck by my side and our guests following. When we walked out, there was a huge partition covering half of the driveway where there were no cars.

“What is that?” I asked. I looked up at Buck and his face held a smirk.

“If you hush, I’ll get to that,” Mel fussed. “Okay, so Buck wanted to do something different and special for Nic, so we had to be creative. While he doesn’t know the sex of the baby, he knows what’s behind this partition. This boy wore my damn nerves out, but I know they both will be happy with the results.”

“I know you ain’t talking about nobody’s nerves?” He frowned, causing the crowd to laugh.

Mel waved him off before she started talking again. “Anyway, Buck, if you want to go ahead and give Nic her gift, we can move along or do you wanna stand there and whine all day?” She cocked her head to the side with a smirk on her face.

“We’ll see who’ll be smirking later,” he responded before turning to me. “I didn’t know what I wanted to get you as a thank you gift for having my baby, and I didn’t want to wait. I thought about it, and I realized it was time you had your own ride. I didn’t mind you driving my shit, but baby, you’re rough on some rims.” He laughed after his last statement, and it was registering what he said, and my eyes bucked.

“You didn’t?” I called out.

“I did, but the thing is, all I did was pay for it and let them know what to do. The interior is customized to match the exterior and the exterior color is what gender our kid will be.” He flashed his award-winning smile, and I was speechless.

“Y’all ready?” Kasha asked.

“Yeah, because this nigga about to pay up,” Stacks yelled from the side.

Buck escorted me to the end of the partition, where there was a long rope hanging off the side.
