CHAPTER19

Josh went on and on about expenses relating to a renovation on a property we’d acquired in Paris. He was heading out there in a few weeks to oversee the process. I picked up on half of what he said. He was the one who insisted on these daily check-ins. He has an irrational fear of anyone taking advantage of me, including himself.

He forever didn’t think he was qualified for the job I gave him or the responsibility I bestowed on him in a role equal to my brothers in authority and fifth behind the four of us in value. I trusted him implicitly.

“I thought I’d pop over before the family dinner in two weeks and then go back for the finish.” Josh said.

I grunted.

“Am I keeping you from something important?” He asked.

“The most important.”

Rayna looked up. I winked at her, and she smiled and went back to reading.

“You and Rayna are getting along?” He asked.

“Better than expected.” I stood up and paced near the window. The sun was low in the sky.

“You bringing her to dinner?”

“If it’s safe, then yeah.” I nodded.

“We could do it in a suite instead of on the casino floor.” Josh added. “I’ll arrange it and let the guys know. Any special request? Warnings to be on our best behavior?”

“Thank you.” I peered down into the courtyard that separates the Quadrangle Towers. I waited for the moment I would look at what I built with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Mostly, I felt trepidation and a sense of impending doom. I had been obsessed for so long with protecting my father’s legacy. It was my sole focus, for the simple reason that failing my dad’s company meant I failed my brothers and Josh, too. I didn’t do it completely for them, but now I want to do something for myself. I deserved it. I deserved her.

I turned back and found Rayna watching me. She hopped up off the chair and bounced on her feet. All the doom went away when I look into her eyes. She stood and wrapped her arms around my waist. I bent down and lifted her in my arms.

“I finished reading it, Daddy.” She wrapped her arms around my neck.

“Any questions?” I nuzzled her neck. She smelled like the vanilla soap I washed her with.

“Nope.” She pressed her chest into me. “It’s all good.” I carried her over to the desk and sat her down. Handing her a pen. She leaned over and signed the two copies of the contract. I did the same. I gathered the papers and slid them on a tray at the corner of my desk. “If we ever need to make changes, we know where it is. Okay?”

“Okay.” I reached around her, but she pushed me back and looked up at me. “Now that we have your contract, want to hear mine?”

My eyes narrowed.

“No need to write it down.” She hopped off the desk and pushed me back toward the couch. I sat down and she kneeled between my legs. “A verbal affirmation will be fine.”

She placed her hand on my thigh and the muscle flexed involuntarily.

“Raise your right hand.” She blinked those big expressive eyes, the perfect little doll face with her high cheekbones. She wore no makeup, but her natural beauty accentuated her features. “Do you solemnly swear to be the best Daddy you can be at all times?”

“I do.” I blinked to keep from laughing.

“Do you promise to play with me and take care of me and only spank me when it’s absolutely necessary?”

I raised an eyebrow.

“You decide when it’s necessary, of course.” She blinked innocently.

“In that case, I do.” I nodded.

“Okay, by the power vested in me by the universe, I now pronounce us, Daddy and little girl.” She curtly nodded her head and reached out for my hand and kissed it. The sweet, innocent kiss made my dick hard. She licked the tip of my index finger and sucked it into her mouth while her other hand slid up my thigh to caress my cock.

“What should we do now, Daddy?” Her cheeks hallowed out as she continued to suck on my finger.
