His dad laughed again. “Keep telling yourself that. Come. Let’s go and join the party. There are a few omegas I want you to meet.”
He would rather eat glass.
Crowds were too much for him. He couldn’t imagine himself spending a second in the presence of strangers. His wolf was already agitated. He was going to snap at some poor omega out there. He was already known as the devil. He wasn’t going to make it worse. “I’m going to have to pass.”
“Fuck, Xaine,” his father growled. “I called in a lot of debts for this party.”
“Oh… I should have known.” Xaine sighed. “No omega would come here willingly. Sorry dad. I don’t want any part of this. I’m not going to be part of your shady deals.” Xaine pushed away from the window and walked to the door. His dad gripped his arm before he could walk out. A growl rumbled within Xaine. They stared at each other for what felt like forever, the silent fight for dominance thrumming in the air.
“Don’t run, Xaine. You have to live sometime. And finding a mate is part of that. It doesn’t matter how he comes to you.”
Xaine stared at his dad, stunned.
Who wanted a blackmailed mate? Not him.
He wanted someone to love him. Was that too much to ask? Maybe it was.
“It might not matter to you, but it matters to me. Please don’t do this again,” he said, walking out of the office.
“Xaine!” his dad shouted his name, but he didn’t stop walking. “I won’t live forever. What are you going to do when I’m gone?”
“You’re going to outlive us all,” Xaine threw over his shoulder. He heard the older alpha laugh, but there was a sad note to his laughter. Xaine thought about going back and talking to him again, but he knew they’d end up fighting again. He’d had enough for one night.
“Let’s go.” Xaine told Klane.
“It didn’t go well, huh?”
“No, it didn’t.” Xaine threw over his shoulder. “Did the agency send the service omega?”
There were two things that calmed Xaine down when he was spiralling out of control – sex and physical labour. Sex was his number one choice.
“Yes,” Klane said, taking out his data reader and handing it to Xaine. “You have to accept their terms and conditions first. It doesn’t look good. Their lists of terms and conditions keep getting longer and longer. I wonder if they put such restrictions on other alphas.”
No. It was only him because he was fucking too everything.
Xaine read through the contract and pressed his thumb into the signature slot, accepting the service omega agency’s terms and condition.
A lot of service omegas didn’t allow alphas to knot them. Xaine didn’t even know why the agency bothered to mention that one.
Xaine didn’t sleep with omegas.
He fucked them.
He didn’t require long winding foreplay from an omega.
He was there to fuck.
They walked out of the house to the waiting pod. They got inside and drifted down the airway to the lodging Klane had booked an entire floor for the night. The beta walked ahead of him to the room.
“Just a moment,” he told Xaine before entering the room. A few minutes later he returned. “He’s ready for you. I’ll wait downstairs.”
Xaine nodded and walked into the room. The service omega was already in bed. Naked. He turned to look at Xaine, an uncertain smile on his lips. His eyes roamed over Xaine’s body. The omega gulped.
“I’ve never been with an alpha your size,” he commented.
“Do you want to leave?” Xaine bit out. Not caring if the omega stayed or left. He would rather fuck, but he had other ways to release the tension in his body. None of them were as effective as sex, but he wasn’t going to beg.
“No. I need the credit,” he said. “I get paid double for being here.”
