“Holi, whatever you do, don’t run,” Xaine warned darkly, which made Holi tremble and want to see what would happen if he did run. Holi took another step backward before he turned and ran.Holi heard Xaine come after him. Laughter echoed around him as he ran faster. A tingly feeling mingled with the burn of desire in his veins.

And when Xaine caught, Holi had never felt such a thrill or been so aroused in his life. His body trembled, and his hole pulsed, dripping like a faucet, soaking his pants.

“Fuck me,” Holi begged, clinging to Xaine.

Xaine growled. The sound reverberated through Holi, heightening his arousal. Holi wanted Xaine to take him right there in the hallway. He didn’t care who saw them. He wanted to feel Xaine’s cock inside him.

“Shit,” Xaine growled. He suddenly let Holi go and walked away.

Holi stared at Xaine’s receding back, stunned.

Why was he walking away? Did Holi do something wrong?

Chapter 20

Xaine

Xaine forced himself to walk away from the omega. He’d been this close to slipping. Again.

Fuck! Xaine silently screamed. The hate he’d always felt for himself surfaced.

For days, he kept a lid on his desires because he didn’t want to scare Holi. Xaine didn’t even know how he did it. Holi pushed his buttons in the most tantalizing way. He made him hot, hungry, and needy.

Xaine somehow managed to keep his head, but when Holi playfully ran away from him… he’d lost the fight against his desires. He’d wanted nothing more than to rip into Holi’s clothes and ravage him – sink his claws into him, hold him down while he bit into his neck and fucked him hard.

Xaine rushed down the hallways, making his way to his office even though he wanted to turn around and find Holi again. His wolf roared, urging him to go back and take what he wanted.

Listen to me for once, Xaine thought, entering the office. He walked to his desk and picked up the bottle of disinfectant. Xaine sprayed his hands, hoping the chemical smell would calm him down as it always did. He rubbed the substance into his hands and cupped them in front of his face. He breathed it in. The familiar chemical smell worked its way inside him and calmed him down a little.

Fuck, that was close. Xaine walked to the window and breathed in the fresh air breezing through the window.

The door to his office opened and Klane walked in. The beta held his case, ready to go.

“We should get going,” Klane said. “Hura is already at the site waiting. The house is a little run-down, but he said it’s big enough to house twenty omegas.”

“Good. Let’s get to work,” Xaine said, glad to be getting out of the house. Time away from Holi would help. They made their way out of the house into the waiting pod. The house inspection didn’t take long, since Xaine liked the house on sight. He signed off on the house and left everything in Hura’s hands. Done, Xaine asked the Preat to take him to his favourite tailor’s shop.

“Do you need new clothes?” Klane asked.

“No. They’re for Holi,” Xaine said.

“Doesn’t he have enough clothes? You’ve ordered more than enough clothes for the omega. I’m sure he has some he hasn’t worn yet,” Klane said.

“Well, you can never have enough clothes. Besides, I asked him to accompany me to a party. He’ll need something to wear then.” Xaine inwardly cringed. His words sounded ridiculous. The truth was, he needed time away from Holi. And since he had nothing better to do, he decided to pass the time doing his favourite thing – dressing up Holi. He loved seeing the omega in the clothes he picked out for him. It was the simplest way to satisfy his possessive nature without going too far.

“I guess,” Klane said. “Your heat is coming in two days.”

“I know,” Xaine bit out.

“Have you told him yet?” Klane asked.

“No,” Xaine said. There was no need for the omega to know anything. Xaine will take care of his heat.

“I’m sure everything will be fine. Holi seems to like you,” Klane said.

“Like me? What makes you say that?” Xaine asked curiously.

Klane shrugged. “It’s the way he looks at you.”
