Holi laughed. “Fuck. You’re not a good friend. You should be discouraging me right now. Telling me he’s not good for me.”
“He’s not good for you,” Blaine said. “But you love that about him, Holi.”
Holi sat up, shocked by Blaine’s words.
“What? Don’t look at me like that?” the omega said. “Am I lying?”
Holi shook his head.
“See.”
“But what does that make me?”
“People like different things. What did you feel when you saw him tonight?”
“I felt like I could breathe again,” Holi said.
“Come here,” Blaine said, wrapping him in his arms. Holi’s eyes filled with tears. “Sometimes you have to let go.”
Holi nodded. He fell asleep in Blaine’s arms. And the next day, when he was tired of thinking about Xaine and everything that happened between them. He packed his case and Blaine hired a shuttle to take him to the Covus house. Blaine waved to him a broad smile on his lips.
“Tell him he’s a dick for not coming after you years ago,” Blaine said.
“You’re so vulgar,” Holi said before he got into the pod. Holi’s heart hammered hard as he made his way to the house. Memories flooded his mind as he came to a stop in the driveway. He thanked the pod operator and made his way into the house. Xaine was walking down the stairs as he walked in. Holi’s heart skipped a beat at the sight of him.
“Hi,” Holi said.
“Hey,” Xaine said as he came closer. They stared at each other for a beat before they fell in each other’s arms. “Thank you.”
“I love you too,” Holi said.
“Please don’t ever leave me again,” Xaine begged.
“I won’t,” Holi said. “I’m here to stay.”
Xaine stared at him, his eyes shimmering gold. Holi climbed Xaine until he had his thighs wrapped around him.
“Take me to bed. It’s been too long,” he said.
Xaine laughed. And Holi relished the sound as it echoed all around him. Holi leaned down and slammed their lips together.
This is where I belong, he thought as he clung to his alpha.
