God, she was fucking pretty. Earlier I’d told her to dress up for a nice dinner so she’d outdone herself and slid into a fitted black dress with shimmers of silver down the length of it. It stopped above her knees and she was several inches taller in her heels. I’d already removed her coat and even though the room was warm, goose bumps still traveled up and down the length of her bare arms.

I slid my hands to her shoulders and curled them around her neck. “Are you ready?”

“I’m always ready for you.”

That, I knew well. Elizabeth could get turned on by a kiss to her throat, a fingertip trailing down her hand, or a few dirty texts I’d send on the way home from a workout. The woman was always ready for me and I fucking loved her ravenous hunger to always be so close and connected to me.

“Good. You know I love you, right?” I lowered my mouth to hers and kissed her. My hands stayed where they were at her neck and I used my thumbs to tilt her chin up. “You know I love you, right?”

“Yes,” she whispered against my lips.

Aware we were being watched, I kept the kiss chaste. For now.

“Okay. Close your eyes.” I slid off the blindfold and ran my fingers through her hair. I was blocking her view to the gathering area, but the lights had been on this room for an hour and the crowd had gathered, waiting. I ignored them as much as possible, my focus solely on Elizabeth, but now that she was about to see them, I nibbled my lip.

Whatever. They wouldn’t be open for long.

She stood in front of me, pulse wildly pumping at the base of her throat and I pressed my thumb over the stop. It was racing and at her sides, she had her hands fisted so harsh her knuckles were white.

“Why are you so nervous?” I asked, running my finger over her cheek. She hadn’t been this nervous even the first night we met. Odd how a stranger could soothe her more than me.

She licked her lips. “I don’t know. I’m not. Excited maybe? It’s been so long since we’ve been here.”

“And it’ll be the last time you come unless you offer,” I promised her. After tonight, we’d never need it again and I wouldn’t have brought her here for this except she’d always said she wondered about how it would feel to be watched.

Like fuck I was letting anyone put their eyes on my woman’s naked body though.

“It’ll be a night to remember,” I assured her, cupping her cheek and kissing her. “I promise and you know I won’t do anything you don’t like.”

“Oh, I’m sure I’ll love everything you do to me.”

If I couldn’t feel dozens of eyes on us, she’d get a spanking for that. Mostly because she’d like it.

I left my hand on her cheek and stepped back. Running my fingertip over her closed lids, I put space between us, my arm outstretched.

“Slowly count to three and then you can open your eyes.”

“One.” I took my finger off her eyelid.

“Two.” I grabbed the box from my pocket.

“Three.” I dropped to one knee in front of her, adjusting my already hard dick.

She opened her eyes slowly, lips lifted into a smile until she registered everything going on in front of her. Around her. At her feet.

“Oh my God,” she gasped. Her mouth gaped and her eyes popped wide. “What is this?”

Flowers were everywhere. So thick the floor could hardly be seen. On the bed, the gray coverings normally there could only be seen at the edges of the bed. The rest of it was littered with red and white rose petals.

Her head fell and her hands went to her mouth, eyes lifting to the crowd behind me and back to me. “The windows are open.”

“They are.”

Confusion mixed with something else swirled in her blue eyes and I gave her a moment. It’d been so long since we’d been in this room and I remembered every beautiful fucking second from the first time I saw her and my heart stalled, seeing her on the bed waiting for me to the moment now, as she returns her gaze to mine.

“What are you doing?”

A laugh bubbled from my chest and I shook my head. Popping open the box, she gasped again as the light hit the diamond ring inside. “Our lives started here. The best part of mine did, anyway, and it was here we decided to be a couple. I figured it was fitting that it should be here you agree to forever with me and say yes to being my wife.”
