My heart is already starting to race as I pull up the TikTok app. Sure enough, last night’s video has already gotten more than eight thousand views and just under one thousand likes. Seventy-eight comments.

Huh?It doesn’t make any sense. It’s just a creepy chalkboard in a dark basement. What am I missing?

I scan through the comment section in hopes that something might clue me into what’s going on, and the pieces finally start coming together:

My eyes skim the rest, confusion overwhelming me.Orbs?What are they talking about? There weren’t any–

I watch the video again, straining my eyes–and I freeze.

There, about sixteen seconds into the twenty-seven-second video, just beyond the chalkboard, are two strangely positioned orbs of light. One is floating to the left of the chalkboard, near the corner of the classroom, and the other lingers in the doorframe where Caleb is standing just a few feet out of frame. I watch it again and again, struggling to believe my own eyes, but every time, the orbs are there for a few seconds, and then they’re gone. But they were definitelythere.

My mind is racing. How had I missed that!? I know I didn’t see anything with my own eyes while Caleb and I were down there. I don’t even remember seeing them when I reviewed the clip before uploading it to TikTok!

How did this happen? What the hell is going on?
