“Is he okay?”

“Don’t know. Greyson just called and told us to haul ass over to some GPS location because Lane’s not supposed to be there. I’m just not sure what to do with you,” I divulged, watching the worry dance across Oliver’s face as he listened intently to what I was saying.

“Can I come with you?”

“No, baby,” Hayes explained. “It could be dangerous, so you’ll need to stay here.”

Oliver worried his lip. “By myself?”

I nodded, sitting down next to him on the sofa. He rolled off Hayes and crawled into my lap. “You’ve been a really good boy lately, it’s just that if your friend has gotten himself into some trouble, we don’t want you to get hurt. Could you be good by yourself, or do we need to put you back in the cage?”

Oliver frantically replied, “No! No cage, please! I can be good. I don’t even mind if you lock me in one of the upstairs rooms, just please don’t leave me alone down there again. Please.” I surveyed his eyes, trying to find any sign that he was being deceitful. It didn’t seem like he was.

Hayes looked at me briefly before he spoke. “Okay. You need to understand, though, that if you run away, we will find you, and you will suffer the consequences. This house is full of and surrounded by cameras. Do you understand, Oliver?”

Oliver bobbed his head. “Yes, yes! I promise I’ll be good.”

I took his enthusiasm into account, pausing to caress his warm back. I smiled as he arched into my hand. “You know… I think if you’re really good, you might earn a reward when we get back.”

“What kind of reward?” Oliver sat up, looking reminiscent of a real puppy with his head tilted in curiosity.

Hayes chuckled, “Hmm… I think we should let him choose his own, don’t you, Hudson?”

“I’m cool with that. Sound good, pet?”

Oliver grinned happily at us. “Yes!”

“Alright, we’ll do that then. We need to go now, but you just relax, be good, and think about what you want as your prize.” I brushed the loose strands of hair out of his face, admiring the way his eyes seemed to have an almost golden gleam to them when they caught the light of the setting sun filtering in through the windows.

Oliver pressed a light peck to my cheek. “I’ll be good if you be safe.”

I hummed, “We’ll be safe, pet. Nothing in the world has the strength to take us from you.”

A teasing laugh trickled out of his lips. “A bullet? A polar bear? A nuclear bomb?”

I rolled my eyes, my lips tugging up. Hayes grabbed Oliver from behind, pulling him up and into a hug. “That was just asking for a spanking, wasn’t it? What Hudson means is that we’ll be safe. It shouldn’t be more than a few hours.”

Oliver sucked his lips inward, pausing for a moment like he wanted to say something.

I asked, “What is it, little one?”

“Oh, nothing. Shouldn’t you guys have left like five minutes ago?”

Hayes scoffed, “We’re going, we’re going.”

As we pulled off of the dirt road to park next to Greyson’s car, I couldn’t help but wonder why the fuck Lane was out here. The forest loomed around us; the underbrush was thick. Following the signal coming from our brother’s phone, we ventured in.

It wasn’t far at all until we came upon a dilapidated barn that looked like it could’ve been the set to several horror movies.

Bang.A gunshot rang out, scattering the onlooking birds from the nearby trees. Hayes and I drew our weapons and rushed towards the large opening where the door had most likely been when the building had been in its prime.

The sight that greeted us wasn’t welcome. There was a skinny tweaker-looking dude writhing in the dirt, bleeding moderately from a gunshot wound to his lower leg. Our brother stood further in, Lane limp in his arms.

“What the fuck happened here?” Hayes asked, a step behind me.

“Is he alive?” I pondered, taking in the state of the small boy. Bruises and abrasions littered his fair skin, and what appeared to be dried cum was splattered against his upper half.
