I came to my office early this morning. Today is a beautiful day. I sit in my meeting with my client’s representative. Though I hear nothing that she says. All I can think about is the raw sound of Zac coming in my ear.
Last night was a hot revelation, who knew phone sex could be that great. It was amazing. I didn’t know I could have an orgasm over a phone call. Is it getting hot in here? I move in my seat, from the thoughts of last night.
“Sage, she is in need of your help and money is nothing to her.”
I focus on Carla, she has been talking about her client for the last hour. “What’s name again?”
“Emily Montcroix. She is the heiress to the De Clare and Sons company.”
That got my attention, everyone knew the Montcroix family, they are a real estate dynasty.
I can hear the cash register ringing up in my ear. “How did she find out about me? My company is small compared to the other professional organizers.”
Carla takes off her glasses and rubs her nose. She looks like she is under stress, normally her braids are immaculate, and her nails are done. Carla is not her usual self today. Even her creamy mocha complexion appears dull.
“She said she found you on Instagram and she became interested in your work.”
Anise runs my Instagram business page, so she will be proud.
“How soon do you want me to meet her?” I open my phone and begin to take notes for my calendar.
“Is today too soon? Maybe in the next two hours,” Carla asks.
Okay, I guess she is eager. “No problem, as long as it’s in two hours, that should be fine. I will grab some lunch, then I will meet you. Send me the directions.”
“Great, I will call and make the arrangements.” Carla packs her bags.
“Hey, Carla, you okay?” I’m concerned, she is not her bubbly self.
She turns to me, like she is struggling, trying to decide if she should confide in me.
“How long have I known you, Sage?” she asks, her voice trembling like she wants to cry.
“For about five years,” I reply.
“My ghost from my past is trying to come back into my life.” She exhales.
“Shit,” I reply. I watch as she wipes away a single tear and replaces it with a huge smile.
“Yeah. But on a brighter note, you are glowing this morning. Whatever is doing that to you keep it,” Carla says.
As she reaches for her phone, it vibrates, and the name Nathan Montcroix appears. She shakes her head and ignores the call.
“Sometimes, you think you fall for the right person and they are the absolute wrong one, yeah know.” She says as she turns to leave. The phone vibrates again. I bet it’s Nathan Montcroix.
“You deserve the best, Carla.” I feel like I need to say that to her.
“Thank you. See you later. I will send the location.” She smirks and takes her exit
I should stop to get some lunch, go to the bank and then the meeting.
My phone jiggles against my car keys in my bag. I reach in and pull it out. After I see the name on my screen, I know it’s about to get better.
“Hello.” I tap my pen against my tabletop.
“Hey. I am looking for Sage.” His voice is husky and rich, my skin gets the gooseies from talking to him.
“This is she, how can I help?”
