“Thank you, and it’s Em.” We make our way into her walk-in closet. It’s jaw droppingly stunning.

The space is as big as my living room and kitchen combined. A crystal two-tier chandelier hangs in the center of the room. Panels, upon panels of closet space to hang her clothing with custom lighting. Floor to ceiling mirrors, a luxurious sitting area. If Carrie Bradshaw was a real person she would have loved this closet as much as I do.

The only thing that seems out of place was one shattered mirror, and the clothes and shoes that litter the floor. The place is a mess.

“I know what you are thinking, but—” She chokes up and starts to cry.

I reach into my bag and hand her a handkerchief. “Oh no, it’s okay.” We sit on her lounge chair.

She sniffles loudly. “God, you must think I’m a mess.”

“No, I don’t,” I wait for her to stop.

She stops and wipes her eyes and sniffles. “I went to my boyfriend’s house last night and he broke up with me and kicked me out.” She screams and cries some more.

“Oh no, he didn’t.”

“I have been with him on and off. Then he told me last night that he has someone else. Can you believe that?” Her mascara starts to run down her tanned skin.

“You deserve better.” I rub her shoulder, she quiets down and looks at me.

“You really think so, Sage?” Her blue eyes are glassy, and they shine bright. It’s as if she is waiting for me to give her hope.

“Yes, you seem like a nice lady. Let him go. You need someone better.”

She shakes her head, sending her blonde bob in a disarray “I do but, I love him.”

“Does he love you back?” I ask.

She smiles sadly. “I think he does. He is just distracted. But I will fight for my man.”

Emily got some power to her. “Well, fight for him.”

“I thought that I would hate you,” she says, looking at me flat in my face.

“Um what?” I pull away slowly.

“Oh no haha, I thought that I wouldn’t like a professional organizer. They are normally so stiff you are so nice.” She smiles and squeezes my shoulder.

“Ok let’s talk about getting your closet space streamlined and looking good.”

It took me one hour to assess the room and form a plan “First, we will have to declutter your room.”

“I do have a lot of haute couture dresses,” she tucks her hair behind her ear.

“You can either sell them, auction them or give them away to charity.” I make small notes to contact a web designer just in case she wants to sell her pieces.

“Should I do renovations and add more closet space?” Emily asks.

“We will be working with your closet space. You don’t need any more,” I reply while making small notes.

“If you do, I can have them tear it down and build a bigger closet space,” Emily says as she looks around the room like the thought of demolition is cheap and normal.

“This would be fine. I will add some pieces to make it functional, chic and organized.”

“I am excited. How soon can you start?” Emily claps her hands and smiles.

I look through my planner seeing the appointments that I have. “I can start next Monday.”
