I study my older sister, she is the epitome of success, cardiologist, mom. She is beautiful and healthy. Her beautiful dark brown skin radiates against the square neck yellow dress, its perfection.

Where Sage is order and class, Rosemary is grace and elegance. You may feel a need to bow when she is near.

“I love your dress, where did you get it?” I ask Rosemary.

“Banana Republic. Marcus wants to fight me for full custody of the kids,” Rosemary states as she closes her eyes and rests her head against the wall.

My temper instantly flares. This man has cheated on Rosemary, because she doesn’t want him back he is doing everything is his power to drag her through hell.

“He better act his hairline and pull back,” I reply. God I couldn’t stand Marcus aka Rosemary’s husband. He was man jealous of my sister’s greatness.

“Yes apparently my children are being neglected since I am a single mom now,” Rosemary rolls her hair from side to side on the wall.

“Neglected? Those children are always with you.” Cassia shouts, she begins to pace the bedroom.

“Does he have enough money to do that?” I ask.

“No, if he wins, I will have to pay child support if he gets full custody,” Rosemary chimes in.

Cassia stops pacing. “All that man has is strong swimmers and audacity.”

Sage chuckles at Cassia. “You’re just as bad as Ani.”

“Birds of a feather.” Cassy wiggles her eyebrows at me.

“Can we stay up here till everything is over? I am so tired.” Sage melts onto her daughter’s bed.

Cassia closes the bedroom door. “We can do whatever we like. I like you guys’ company more than anyone else.”

ERYX

“Hello,” a little voice below my waist shouts out.

Glancing down I stare into hazel green eyes. The cute lemon dress she’s wearing is covered in sunflowers, and red galoshes.

“Hi” I smile back at the small dark-haired angel.

“Are you the reason my aunty is hiding in the closet?” The child folds her tins arms and squints at me.

“I doubt it,” I reply.

“Hmm.” That’s all she said.

She steps back glares at me, drags her gaze up and down and walks away. I watch her skip to a group of children playing out near the back of the house.

“Shit, who is the rich asshole that parked their new Mercedes in my neighbor’s yard?” Zac voice bellows behind me.

I chuckle. “I like the fact that you know our bank statements will never be the same.”

Zac laughs out loud and pulls me into a hug. “It been a minute brother. How are you? Working out?”

He squeezes my forearms, and he pulls away. “With all the shit that’s going on I have to.”

“Really? Want to come inside and talk about it?” Zac strokes his beard and glances at the window above.

“You look nervous.” I squint my eyes and realize that beads of sweat dot his nose.
