I nod in agreement. “Oh, I like this.”

Rosemary shakes her head. “This is a dumb ass idea.”

“Is it though? No, it’s not,” Cassia argues.

“You will not get to know him by playing these childish pranks.” Rosemary chews on small tomatoes and mozzarella.

“Who said anything about getting to know this man?” Cassia murmurs.

“No one,” Sage whispers behind her hand.

“Oh my God, not you too.” Rosemary laughs.

“Yes. Let’s get rid of him. Think about Kai.” Sage pouts at Rosemary.

Rosemary’s shoulders drop. “Burn his food, leave the bathroom dirty. Those things will drive him nuts.”

“Yes!” Sage, Cassia and I scream together.

“Cut his phone charger right below the head. Or put tiny locks through the hole of all his plugs and throw away the key,” Sage adds.

“How is he when other guys talk to you?” Rosemary asks.

“Um I don’t think he care much about that.”

“Ignore him and flirt with another guy. Or send a wrong text to his phone and say it’s for another guy. Bonus points if you go on a date.” Rosemary adds to the plot.

“Becomegood friendswith his ex and then demolish them. Or become friends with his uncle,” Sage sips on her juice acting like she didn’t say what she said.

“My flabber hasn’t been this gasted. No becoming friends with the uncle that can be dangerous for Kai.”

After one hour of taking metal notes, I had a plan. If executed my son and I will be free.

Cassia puts out her hands. “Come on, join in. On three. Ani you got this.”

“One.”

“Two.”

“Three.” Our hands lift in the air, and we all break down in laughter.

The squeaking of a door opens and Kyros steps back in.

We all become silent as we watch him close the door.

“What? It is hot as balls out there.” He throws his jacket on the sofa and sits down.

“Kyros?” calls out to him.

“Nah, I am not going back out there.” Kyros wipes his neck with his forearm.

“Kyros,” Sage calls his name trying to get his attention.

“Malka! No.” He shakes his head.

Sage plies a plate with some of our finger food. She walks over and rests it on the trunk shaped coffee table.

“We wanted to know if you were hungry?” Sage replies.
