“Πριν τον ?πνο, θα ?χει γ?νει (Before bedtime it will be done),” Khaos replies.

I nod parking my car, turning around I touch Anise’s leg and wake her up. “I psychi mou, we are home.”

Anise rubs her eyes and stretches; she turns to get Kai out of his car seat.

“I have it handled. Go upstairs and sleep.” She places her hand on the side of Kai’s seat. For a second, I thought she was about to tell me no.

As she steps out of the car, she says, “Change his clothes and wipe him off. If it’s too much, call me, okay?”

“Okay. I got it. I have Cid. You good i psychi mou?” I feel like something happened today and she is not telling me.

She gives me a tight smile and nods. Without looking back, she opens the door and as expected Zeus and Titus are already there to greet her.

Kyros and Cid come to the side of the car as I unbuckle Kai from his seat. He whimpers with his little fists clenched as if he was upset about being disturbed. I place him on my shoulder, and he settles down.

“What happened in the bathroom, Kyros?” My mind begins to formulate all sorts of atrocities that may have happened to my wife while I was in arms reach.

“I don’t know ex?—”

Turning around I stare at Kyros. “Áde gamísou. What do you mean you don’t know Kyros?”

Kyros bends his head in shame. The thought of someone hurting my wife and son has my emotions in shambles.

“Someone or something rattled my wife. I could tell. If they rattle her then they are disturbing me. I don’t like to be fucking disturbed.” A feeling of possession comes over me.

Kai fusses in my arms, “Let me put my son down. Meet me in my office in ten.”

I turn toward the house only to hear the knocking of Cid’s komboloi beads behind me. Stopping, I turn around. “Why the hell are you following me Cid?”

“You need help with Kai.”

“No, I don’t I got pee on my fucking shirt and mouth last time. I think I’m good,” I continue walking up the stairs still hearing Cid behind me.

“Unless you want to tell me how the night with you Cassia went after the brunch, I’m good.” I twisted my gaze back just in time to see Cid turn and gallop down the staircase.

It doesn’t take me long to get Kai to bed. Closing the door gently behind me, I stride down to my office.

I don’t bother looking around the room. I know exactly who is in my office.

Making my way around the table I sit closing my eyes trying to calm down.

“Could be my uncle?”

“We don’t know, he has been silent for a long time.” Khaos voice penetrates my brain.

My fingers dig into the leather armrest. “Dad’s health is on a decline. I think he know that.”

“So, he wants to strike now. B-But we have to find out what happened to Anise today,” The knocking of the komboloi shows that like me Cid is worried.

“I’m sorry, Eryx.”

I open my eyes, and I look at my cousin. “Don’t be sorry, Kyros, do fucking better.”

He nods. “Agreed.”

“I will hire more security for the premises.” Khaos takes his phone out and begins to type away.

“And for the sisters,” Cid interjects.
