“The company was being a dick to his wife, so he bought the company and fired the staff. All for Ani’s happiness.” Sage's smile widens. “I think he loves you sis. Senica is like 100 million dollars or more.”

I think about the time frame and how quickly he would have gotten that together. All for me. My heart skips a beat, my husband is in love with me.

“What kind of coochie do you and Sage have? Men are buying you companies. Meanwhile I am doing Kegels and can’t get a man to buy me a hotdog. Do you roll your hips more or something?” Cassia throws back her head laughing.

“It’s a magical experience being with me Cassia,” Sage teases with a playful glint in her eyes.

“I think he likes you way more than a little bit Ani. Trust me on this one.” Rosemary winks at me.

I look down at my plain black satin underwear. “Shit I need to wear sexier underwear than this.”

“Then let’s get going! Your man is already downstairs waiting on you!” Sage shouts.

ERYX

Pacing is the newest habit that I have picked up. It helps me think. With my hands stuffed in my pockets I pace in front of my fireplace.

“What the fuck is he doing? Trying to get his steps in for the day?” Kyros teases as he rocks Kai on his knee.

“If he continues, I think he’d make a hole straight into the earth’s core,” Khaos joins in. “I chose to ignore. Instead I think of all the things I have planned tonight. Nothing should go wrong.”

“I can’t see myself doing this over a woman,” Cid grumbles.

I stop in my tracks. “You have yet to tell us anything about Cassia.”

Cid straightens up in the single chair. “There is nothing to tell.”

“Really? So, the vampiric looking mark you had on your neck some days ago…How did you get that?” Khaos takes his switchblade out and begins to clean his fingernails.

“Are you fucking the vacuum cleaner again, Cid?” Kyros taunts.

Cid stands and makes his way to the kitchen, grumbling about shooting someone in there fucking knees.

“I think you hit a nerve.” I smirk at Khaos.

“Good because he’s been hitting mine since the brunch,” Khaos grunts.

Mentally I go over all the things I have prepared for Anise.

“We got everything ready for your date. Tell Dada to chill,” Kyro bounces Kai on his knee.

Of course, my son claps his hands at me and laughs.

“As much as I hate to agree with grumps. I can’t see myself doing all this for a woman,” Kyros states.

“Because you don’t understand what love is,” Khaos replies gruffly.

My brain comes to a halt. “I’m not in love.”

Both Khaos and Kyros look at me with blank expressions.

“I’m not.”

Kyros lips tighten. “If you are not in love, whatever this is, I don’t want it.”

“Put your jacket on, here she comes,” Khaos says as he stands.
