“I got him, Ani.” Kyros’s voice makes me stop.

“Great.” I begin to pull myself through the window and the car begins to slide further down the cliff. My fingers dig into the dirt.

“We got you,” someone says, two strong arms pull through the

car window.

The sound of creaking metal echoes over the mountain side, the car slips down the hill dragging itself into the sea.

Oh my god that could have been Kai, Kyros and me. My hands tremble.

“Kyros?”

“I am here, and I have Kai.”

I look up into the face of an unfamiliar man with platinum blonde hair and blue eyes and three teardrops tattooed under his eyes.

“Who are you?” I ask as I clinch onto his shoulders.

“Some people call me Death, hold on tight. Don’t look down, close your eyes.” The man smiles broadly as pulls me close to his body. I feel my body begin pulling up the cliff slowly.

ERYX

Rage has become my silent companion as Khaos, Cid and I drive through the hilly side of Charleswood.Cid made some calls, was on their way, by now they should be there.

My uncle is a dead man. He took almost everyone that is dear to me, first my mom, then my father, now my wife and my son. I don’t know how Khaos wants to do this, but I know he is dying by my hands.

As the car pulls around the bend, I see police trucks and fire trucks around the corner. Cid turns back to me. “The packages have been secured.”

I nod. Before the car can come to a complete stop, I open the car door. Running out past the yellow taped off area I shout Anise’ name.

Police officer steps in front of me. “Sir, you can’t be?—”

“I need to see my wife and child.” I shove him hard and move past him. The two most important people in my world have been hurt, because of me. I have no fucking time for the cops.

I see Anise sitting at the back of an ambulance with a blanket thrown over her shoulders. Kai is on her lap as the paramedics examine them.

Kai’s eyes meet mine, and he stretches his arms forward. His little chubby fingers move back and forth, beckoning me to come.

As her eyes meet mine, she throws the blanket off her shoulders and rushes into my arms.

My body rocks from the impact of her and Kai. I instantly begin to kiss her forehead, moving her away from my body, my hands go crazy as I begin an inspection of my own.

“Are you okay? Are you hurt? Is Kai hurt?” I hold her face in my hand and kiss her on the forehead.

“They took Kyros to the hospital. He got shot in his shoulder. He was so brave, and a guy saved us named Death and-and I-I—” Her lips tremble, and she breaks down.

“I got you, psykhí mou. Shh,” I rock her from side to side as her cry is muffled in my chest. I take my phone and make an important call to my brother-in-law.

After dropping Anise and my son at Zac’s house I can still feel the low hum and rage buzzing through my body.

“Haha look at them, the sons of Demopoulos. At least I know my name will be carried on through you four whether you like it or not,” My uncle spits out blood onto the old church floor. His arms are tied behind his back. The beige suit has seen better days, it’s torn and dirtied since he was dragged out of the car by Cid’s friends. From the swollen eye and busted lip, I think they did more than drag him.

Cid sits with his arm and leg propped up on the old broken church window, the other swings free. Kyros stands by the doorless arch of the church, holding his gun in one hand, a dark blue sling holding the other.
