“Wow,” I smiled, stepping back and admiring her.
She closed the curtain behind her, and watched me carefully.
“So,” she said, putting her hands on her hips, “did you really come here for a dance?”
I shrugged, looking away from her.
It was honest, because I really didn’t know.
She looked at me suspiciously, “why are you here then?”
“I’m not here to hurt you,” I assured her, putting my hands up.
“I know,” she shrugged.
I raised an eyebrow.
“If you were going to hurt me you would’ve done it already. Still doesn’t answer my question.”
“I came to see you,” I said, with a smile.
She considered me, narrowing her eyes and studying my face.
I could tell that she saw straight through me.
“Well,” she said, “I guess that’s okay,” her shoulders dropping.
I smiled.
What she didn’t know was that I saw straight through her too.
There was no winning in a game like this.
Though, if anyone was a worthy opponent for me, it was this woman.
She pushed me back, leading me backwards toward the couch.
Standing in front of me, she began to sway slowly along with the music, running her hands through her long hair and tousling it down her back. I watched her with awe, and realised that maybe getting to know her wouldn’t be so bad.
I grabbed her by the wrist, holding it, and she stopped dancing.
“I didn’t actually come for a dance,” I said.
We were close, and she looked up at me with her big brown eyes, searching my face for a hint. Her plump pink lips were pouted, and she raised her eyebrows.
I let her hand fall, realising I had been holding it for far too long.
“Let’s grab a drink,” I gestured out toward the bar and she smiled, nodding her head. I didn’t trust myself being alone in this tiny room with her, not with the way she looked and the way she moved. I had to remind myself what I was here for, though I still wasn’t certain what that was.
She walked in front of me, down the hall and back into the main part of the club. I couldn’t help but stare at her ass, and purposefully trailed a few paces behind her simply for the better view. She looked back at me over her shoulder, and shook her head, rolling her eyes - but I still noticed that she wore a small smile.
She pulled out a seat at the bar, and I sat next to her.
“What do you want to drink?” she asked, pushing her hair back.
“Surprise me,” I shrugged, leaning against the bar.
She smirked, leaning over the bar to talk to the woman making the drinks. I scanned her body as she curved over the bar, and my eyes trailed down the arch of her back. She noticed me staring, and raised her eyebrows, staring straight back at me.
