We were barely touching, but I still didn’t want to be the one to pull away. Rome sighed, pulling away from my grip and bending over as she exited the car, flashing one last glimpse of the black lace before she shut the door, waving as she strutted into the entrance of her building.

I drove home distracted, with the vision of her burned permanently into my head. How close we were, the feel of her silky skin under my fingers, the way her throat felt under my palm. I was so close to her lips. So close to claiming her mouth, and her body.

Yet another thing the Bikies had now ruined for me.

I knew the poor bastard in the basement would cop the brunt of my sexual frustration. I groaned as I pulled into the driveway, seeing my mothers vehicle. She was the last person I wanted to see. I sat in the car a few minutes after turning it off, dreading going inside.

“Should’ve gone upstairs,” I mumbled to myself as I unlocked the door.

I managed to sneak to my office unnoticed, but I had only just sat my ass in the seat, when the door opened again.

“How did it go? What happened?” Vera demanded, storming into the room.

“Mum,” I rubbed my temples, “it’s late. Go home.”

“Home! How am I supposed to feel safe in my home after that girl threatened my life!” She almost screeched. The woman had been living in a mob house for the majority of her life, butnowshe was scared.

Ren entered the room, after hearing the commotion.

He nodded and I returned it as a greeting.

“Everything went fine,” I said, predicting the questions to come, “I haven’t gotten anything out of her yet. But she’s definitely not just another dancer. I was in Diana’s office, nothing has changed.”

“So are you going to see her again?” Ren asked.

I shrugged, fidgeting with a pen on my desk.

“So that’s it? We forget about it and this girl gets away with it?” Mother said, throwing her hands up in the air.

“This is not how we do things, Antoni.” she said, before storming off.

Ren sighed, “I better make sure she gets home OK.”

I nodded once. He went to follow Mum with a groan.

“When you get back we’ll go deal with that Redliner.”

“Angel is working him now,” he said, “hasn’t said a word.”

“Well, if he’s got anything, I’ll get it out of him.”

The Redline Angels had been very vocal about their attempts to take us down, I could not rationally believe that he just so happened to be hanging around one of our most used drop houses. The Family and the local motorcycle clubs had always worked together and tried to keep the peace, but the Redliners had grown quickly and with many of their members being on the younger side - they were growing arrogant.

Ren smirked and nodded, then hurried after my mother.

“Ren,” I called after him, and he stuck his head back in through the door.

“Mmm?”

“I need you to find out everything you can about this girl.” I said quietly.

He smiled and nodded once again, before leaving me alone. I leant back in my chair and sighed.

What the fuck was I going to do?
