“Oh,” I chuckled, “fuck yes.”

Chapter 10

Ren

“Feeling better yet?” Antoni asked, taking off his boxing gloves and grabbing his water bottle.

“You know nothing makes me feel better than kicking your ass,” I smirked, plopping down in the corner of the ring.

“Whatever helps you sleep at night, mate,” he laughed, looking up as the heavy gym door squealed open. A smile crept onto his face and I looked over my shoulder towards the entrance as Rome walked in.

“Hey baby,” he panted, still catching his breath.

He squeezed between the ropes and hopped down to greet her with a kiss and I looked down to the floor of the ring to give them privacy. I heard a second pair of footsteps and checked over my shoulder again to see Valerie walking in behind Rome. She paused when she saw that I was here, and I noticed her almost turn to leave as soon as she laid eyes on me.

I stood up, watching her.

“You guys finishing up?” Rome asked, with her arm wrapped around Antoni’s waist.

“Just taking a break,” he smiled down at her, “are you here to beat up my sister for ditching our wedding reception?” he glared at Valerie.

He hadn’t said a word to me about it, but I was sure that he knew that we left together.

“No,” she smirked, “we’ve both been dealing with your mother while you’ve been hiding out here.”

“Ah,” Antoni chuckled, running a hand through his hair, “fair enough. How was she?” he asked Valerie.

She only shrugged in reply.

He sighed, and gestured with his head towards the ring, “come on, Val.”

“You want me to show you some moves?” Rome asked Valerie, following her towards the ring.

Antoni laughed, “I think she’ll be fine, Roma. Or are you feeling rusty, Val?”

Rome raised an eyebrow at Valerie, “you can fight?”

Valerie shrugged again, a small smile creeping onto her face as she relaxed a little.

“Me and Ren used to train with her when we were teenagers. She used to kick the shit out of us, but you know, she’s my little sister so we had to go easy on her,” Antoni chuckled.

“Oh fuck off, Toni,” Val rolled her eyes, pointing at the small scar on her cheek that had never faded. It was from one particular fight where she specifically ordered Toni to not hold back. After that, Antoni became Valerie’s bitch for the next week, waiting on her hand and foot so that she wouldn’t tell on him.

“This I have to see,” Rome rubbed her hands together.

Val pulled herself up and into the ring, she met my eyes for only a second before she ripped her gaze away again. She walked to the side of the ropes and picked up Antoni’s pair of gloves, sliding the them onto her tiny hands.

“Come on, Tone,” she smirked, bouncing on her toes and throwing a few air punches.

I smiled, watching her.

Antoni shook his head.

“No thanks,” he laughed, “not after you’ve had Mum in your ear. I know that makes you especially violent.”

Valerie’s eyes wandered over to me.
