“By the text, it was almost like she knew we were together. Like she was watching us or something.”

“Where were you?” he frowned.

I tried to hide it but a smile crept onto my face, “in my car.”

Toni rolled his eyes, “right. What made you think she was watching you, what did it say?”

I sighed, looking down at my drink, “it said, ‘Does Sam know about your son?’”

“A son?” Toni frowned.

I shrugged, throwing my hands in the air.

“I don’t think Livie has any kids,” Toni shook his head, “I think that Sierra must be messing with her. If she was watching you, she would know that you might see the text. Or it would at least throw Liv off.”

I shrugged again.

I hardly knew the girl. She very well could have kids and I wouldn’t know about it. But I felt like it was something that would have come up in conversation. That wasn’t the most concerning part of the text though.

It was the timing.

She somehow knew that Livie was with me, but how?

We went straight from the barbeque to that danky little dead end road. How long had she followed us? If we didn’t notice her, what else didn’t we notice?

Why was she watching us in the first place?

“I need to tell Rome,” Antoni said, pulling out his phone, “warn her that Sierra is acting up again. Where is Livie now?”

“I dropped her back to her apartment. She seemed rattled after she got it. And after Sierra showed up at the wedding-”

“She was at the wedding?” he snapped.

“You didn’t know? She showed up and Livie kicked her out.”

Toni shook his head, concern covering his face. He was about to call Rome, but stood instead and grabbed his car keys.

“I need to check on my wife.”

I nodded once, and followed him down the stairs.

Who knew what this woman was up to.

Was she really this much of a threat?

I got in the car with Toni and he sparked it to life. I shook my head at the Rolls Royce. I could appreciate it, sure, but it wouldn’t be my first pick. It was also a pain in the ass to work on, and since Toni… well, mainly Rome, liked to drive it like it was stolen - it required a lot of upkeep.

It was a short drive into the city, and soon we were outside of Lilith’s.

It was a popular strip club in Melbourne, and while Rome only used to work there - now she owned it. Really, it was the whole reason Toni and Rome even met.

We walked up the narrow steps, the music getting louder as we climbed. It was nearly pitch black in the stairwell, and the pink neon lights from above lit the way. When we entered the main part of the club, our eyes scanned the room.

“Toni!” A voice called from behind the bar.

A young woman bounced over, clad in only a neon green bikini. I recognised her from the wedding, she was one of Rome’s bridesmaids. Her dark hair was in a sleek low bun, and she had golden glitter all over her body that made her skin glisten in an interesting way.

“Hey, Bea,” Toni pulled her in for a quick hug.
