“The only thing that girl has feelings for is chasing after my husband,” she threw her arm over her eyes again.

“I know,” I chuckled. “Look, I don’t know what his obsession is either. But I’ve gotta spend this fucking time with him anyway, so I thought I’d help the bloke out.”

“As long as you’re careful,” she sighed after a few beats of silence.

I nodded, “always.”

“I mean, emotionally. You’re only gonna get hurt if you fall for him.”

“I’m not gonna fall for him,” I rolled my eyes.

Rome put her hands up, “I’m just sayin’.”

“Thank you, but I’ll be okay. It’s just two weeks. We’re gonna deal with the Redliners and then it’ll be over. My debt to him will be repaid.”

Rome nodded.

“So, do you really think Sierra was watching you guys last night?”

I sighed and shrugged, “it’s hard to say. The timing was odd, but she could have just seen me at the shop with him or something and it could’ve been a coincidence.”

Rome frowned, deep in thought.

“Do you think we need to do something? Do you think she’s gonna become a threat to us?”

I chuckled, “no. I think she’s just lonely and desperate.”

Rome nodded, “well she should’ve thought about that before she fucked us over.”

“I feel bad for her sometimes. But I don’t think she’d actually hurt any of us.”

“Why didn’t you tell me she showed up at my wedding?”

“Wha-” I stuttered, “who told you that?”

“Sam told Toni.”

“Fucks sake,” I snapped, shaking my head.

Could no one keep a secret?

“I’m just wondering why you didn’t tell me, I’m not mad.”

I sighed, pushing my hair away from my eyes, “I just wanted you to have the perfect night, Rome. You deserved it. YouandToni did. You didn’t need the drama of that bitch showing up. I knew that if you knew about it, you wouldn’t be able to let it go.”

She chuckled, “I guess you’re right.”

“You forget that you’re a bit of a crazy ass bitch.”

“I do,” she smirked, “thanks for the reminder,” she said as she heaved herself off of the couch.

I chuckled, shaking my head at her.

“You still got your gun in your bag?” she asked, quietly.

I nodded.

“Keep it on you, okay?”
