“I want that shit sorted by Friday night. We can’t afford to piss off this buyer.”

“Done.”

Sammy and I looked at each other as the phone call ended.

“That was King’s voice,” Sammy said.

I brought up the tracker screen and zoomed out.

There were dots all over the city, the bikes and cars were all spread out.

I looked closer, and found five that were all headed in the same direction.

It was like neither of us dared breathe as we watched those little red dots on the screen all head towards the same place.

Minutes passed, and I zoomed in as they all got closer together.

Finally, they stopped.

I zoomed right in and frantically searched for a piece of paper to note down the address. Sam handed me my notebook and I scribbled it down.

He took a picture of it with his phone.

“Their drop house.”

“We’ve fucking got it,” I said quietly.

“We did it?” he looked at me wide eyed.

“If we get this,” I pointed to the screen, “we end them.”

Sammy stood, lacing his fingers behind his head and letting out a deep exhale.

“We have two days,” he said, bouncing slightly in the adrenaline.

My own heart was beating frantically.

We were so close.

This could all be over so soon.

Sammy unlocked his phone and dialled, and then held it to his ear.

“Toni,” he said into it. “Toni, we fuckin’ got ‘em.”

He flashed a smile at me, and I felt something weird happen in my stomach.

We got them.

That meant this was nearly over.

That meant, I wouldn’t have to see Sam ever again.
