“Sorry, but there’s a phone call for Becca.”
“Me?”Who could be calling her here?No one knew she was here except—
“Said her name was Angie, and she’s been trying to get you on your cell.I explained you didn’t have your cell phone.”
“It must be important.Angie would only bother me if it was.”Becca felt a sense of loss when Tyler withdrew his hands.
“Come on, I’ll show you where you can take the call.”Jared motioned for her to precede him.She and Tyler followed Jared.
A million things ran through Becca’s mind.Had her mother tried something?Or Alan?Nerves gathered in her belly as it tightened with dread.
Jared led them to an office.“Line two.”He gestured to the desk and the phone.
“Thank you.”Becca slipped away from Tyler’s comforting arm and picked up the receiver.“Hey, Angie, what’s up?”

Tyler stood outside his office to give Becca some privacy, but stayed close in case she needed him.Jared stood beside him.
“She’s very responsive to you,” Jared said.“She didn’t even realize I was watching.”
“Yes.”Tyler grinned.“I have ways to keep her distracted.”
“I bet.”Jared laughed and clasped Tyler on the shoulder.“I really don’t need you for the next few days.”
“That’s why I’ve been burning the midnight oil to make sure my work was done, and you wouldn’t need me.I plan on spending my time with Becca.”
“I figured.”Jared ran his hand through his hair.“I’ll announce tomorrow that dinner is now optional. All the couples tonight looked ready to explode.”
“Yeah.”Tyler watched Jared’s face closely and noted the strain around Jared’s eyes.“What is bothering you?Need to get laid?”Tyler was aware that Jared would go to a friend’s house every so often to let off some steam. From what Tyler understood, the friend had some very interesting parties.
Jared laughed.“Not yet, my friend. But there is something I’d like to ask.”
“Go for it.”
“If Becca decides to do a threesome, I’d like to be your third.”
Tyler’s eyes widened.This was a surprise.
Jared shook his head.“I know I don’t participate, but the way she looks at you… I’m not a threat, and this way, maybe you’ll both be comfortable.”
Tyler saw the logic in Jared’s words.“If she’s willing, then I don’t see a problem.”Tyler didn’t.Jared would follow his lead with Becca, and there wasn’t another man he trusted more.
“Great.”Jared turned and walked into his office across the hall as Becca hung up the phone.A frown marred her features.
“Problem?”Tyler crossed to her side.
“Not really. My new job moved my start to Monday morning instead of Tuesday. So I won’t have an extra day to prepare now.Angie wanted to let me know.”She smiled.“Am I to assume this is your office and not Jared’s?”
“It is.What gave it away?”
“The horse pictures.”
Tyler glanced at the wall that held the pictures.Figured she’d key on those rather than the other contents of the office.
“Where do you sleep?”
“Upstairs. The second and third floors are sealed off from everyone but Jared and me.That’s our private domain.”
