All I could do was shake my head. Savannah had risked her life to save somebody else. She was so selfless. I looked up to see Moose scowling.
“There’s more, huh?”
Moose nodded. “I should have been there. I should have stayed. Then I could have saved them both.”
“And do you think Sav would have forgiven herself if you and your kids got hurt because of her?”
He scrubbed his hand over his face. “I fucking know. I would have been lost if anything happened to my kids. But Sav is like a daughter to me, so I’m still all fucked up.”
“She’s alive, and so is Gracie. We’ll find out who did this and end them. I won’t stop until we do.”
“That’s a fucking promise. I gotta go check on the kids but call me if there're any changes or you need anything.”
I nodded and sat back in the chair. “I will, brother.”
Closing my eyes, I held Sav’s hand when the door opened again. I growled but looked up to see Lilah coming and changed my tune.
“Hey, Lilah.”
She sadly smiled as she went around checking all of Savannah’s IV’s and monitors.
“How are you doing? Need anything?”
I shook my head. “Nah, I’m good. When is Doc coming in to see her?”
“Later today. I came in to check on her personally. Uhm…”
I looked to see Lilah unwrapping her head bandages and gasped. All of Savannah’s beautiful dark blonde hair was shaved off, and she had a huge gash on her temple.
“What the fuck?”
Lilah quickly worked to wrap her head back up.
“They needed to shave her hair off to open her skull and release pressure. The gash is from where somebody bashed her head.”
“Somebody did what?”
I was standing with my fists at my side when Striker came rushing in and stood in front of his woman.
“Easy, Hawk. Lilah thought you knew.”
I shook my head and sat down.
“Fuck. Fuck, Lilah. I’m so sorry. This is all just too much. So not only did somebody try to burn her alive, they made it inside to bash her head before escaping.”
I turned to see Lilah shaking her head while Striker held her.
“But who would do that, Hawk?”
Holding Sav’s hand, I sighed and looked at Lilah.
“Eckhart.”
Lilah nodded in agreement while Striker took out his phone.
“Let’s get everybody to Church so we can tell them what’s going on.”
Lilah leaned up and gave Striker a quick kiss.
