“So, are you staying here for good?”

“That’s the plan. I’ll be the lawyer for Hope Hearted and Striker is offering me more money to be kept on retainer for the club.”

I leaned on the doorframe. “So are you taking it?”

Lily laughed. “I’ll have to buy my shoes online, but yeah, I’m gonna stay. I need a change in my life.”

“Good. We need somebody like you around here. We’ll see you on Monday.”

“See you Monday.”

As Lily walked down the stairs, I closed the door and locked up. Setting the alarm system, I walked back to Sav and kneeled in front of her.

“How you doing, baby?”

“Just kill me. Put me out of my fucking misery.”

I sat next to her and pulled her onto my lap.

“No can do. But we can get you in a hot tub and ice on your neck. Then bedtime so you can rest.”

Sav just shrugged. “Sure. Cause nothing else is gonna change.”

I sighed and carefully placed her back on the couch, then moved to the bathroom to start the tub. Coming back out, I picked Sav up and brought her to the bathroom.

Sitting her down on the small stool in the corner, I slowly stripped her down and then placed her in the tub. I walked into the kitchen and got the ice pack, then went back into the bathroom.

Sav was sitting with her knees up and face down. Her small tears brought me to my knees. I placed the ice pack on the back of her neck and rubbed her back.

“Everything is gonna be okay, baby. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and I think changing your diet would help. Luna has to. She has a lot of at home things you can try. Who knew that woman was such a naturalist, huh?”

She sniffled and looked up at me. “Luna wants me to get a daith piercing. Said it helps.”

“Then let’s try it! We’re gonna get through this, I promise.”

“Thank you.”

I smiled and kissed her forehead. “Anything for you, Sav. Now you sit and relax while I get the bedroom ready. I put some lavender and peppermint bath salts in like Luna said.”

I got up and walked to our bedroom, leaving Sav to have some alone time. Closing all the blinds, I drew the blackout curtains and turned the diffuser on. The calming scent of lavender filled the bedroom with hints of peppermint.

Luna was really big into oils and swore they helped. So far, we weren’t disappointed. After getting everything all set, I walked back to the bathroom. Sav was still sitting in the tub with her head down.

I carefully took the ice pack off and helped her stand. Wrapping her in a towel, we slowly walked to the bedroom. Sav dried herself off before throwing on a t-shirt and panties.

As Sav crawled into bed, I took my clothes off and threw on a pair of basketball shorts. I got in the bed behind her and pulled her body against mine.

“Get some sleep, baby. I love you.”

Sav happily sighed as she kissed the underneath of my chin.

“Love you, Hawk.”

Ourweekendwasprettylow key and Monday was now here. I could tell Savannah was nervous; she wasn’t eating her breakfast and was unusually quiet.

I pushed the bowl of strawberries toward her. “You gotta eat, babe.”

Sav shrugged. “Don’t feel like it.”
