Moose smiled and leaned down to kiss me. “Say it out loud. I want to hear the words fall from your lips.”
“I’m... I’m pregnant…”
He laughed and kissed me again. “So, why are you sorry? You have our baby growing in there.”
“Because this wasn’t planned. It’s not in my plan! What will Maddox and Nova think? What do you think?”
Moose just kept smiling. “Lily, I’m over the moon with this news. Do you want a baby?”
“Well, yeah. But this is so soon. It’s so unplanned. I like plans.”
Moose laughed. “I know, but it will all be alright. You’ve got me and the entire family behind you.”
I looked up into his eyes, seeing that gleam of happiness.
“Are you happy?”
He nodded. “I am. Are you happy, princess?”
I took his face in my hands and softly kissed him.
“I am.”
Moose leaned down and kissed me again before jumping back up.
“I’m gonna be a fucking dad again! When can we tell everybody?”
I laughed as I gazed at the amazing man in front of me. I was one lucky ass woman to call him mine.
“Three months. Let’s make sure everything is fine before saying anything. But let’s tell the kids first. Like today.”
Moose smiled. “Good. Let’s get out of here, princess.”
The door creaked open and Doc popped his head in.
“Hello, hello! Can I come in?”
I nodded, and he walked in, holding a clipboard in his hands.
“So I’m guessing you’re happy with the news?”
Moose and I both smiled and nodded.
“Good, good. I love having new babies in town. Let’s get you downstairs and have a scan, set you up with our OBGYN, and then get you two home!”
Moose helped me out of the bed as we followed Doc down the hall. Everything was so surreal, but every time I looked next to me, I was reminded that I had the man I loved right beside me.
Chapter Twenty-Six
Moose
Itwasonlytwomonths later, and we had everybody over at our house for a Christmas party. Lily had decorated the entire house and was loving having everybody here. Javier and his mother, Tia Rosa, had made the trip out here just like they promised.
While some might say it was weird, I knew how happy it made Lily. Those people were all she had to remind her of where she had come from, and they were like family to her. Plus, we had made great connections with Javier’s crew.
Everybody was in the living room, enjoying each other's company, when Lily came walking into the room. She was wearing a deep red tulle skirt with a loose white sweater, paired with, of course, black heels.
Nova was wearing something similar; white tulle skirt, red sweater and black flats. She was so thrilled to have Lily as her mother. She followed her around everywhere she went and I knew Lily just loved it. She was a a wonderful mother to Maddox and Nova.
