“Yup. And they kicked the shit out of me. On-duty officers as well, all part of Hayes little club.”

Lily opened her laptop and typed a few things, then looked back at Thor.

“Will Daisy back this up?”

“I fucking hope so.”

Hawk sat down next to Thor and lifted his shirt.

“Bruises are pretty consistent with kicks. Baby, come take some pictures, so we have evidence. We gotta get you to Doc in the morning too, so we have medical proof.”

Sav came over and snapped some pictures of Thor’s injuries.

Lily nodded in agreement. “Charges will drop pretty quickly after they find out you were ganged up on. You still shouldn’t have thrown the first punch... but there’s no way this will hold up in court.”

Thor leaned back with a sigh of relief. Lily sipped from her cup and patted his hand.

“Hayes is a dick who doesn’t know what no means, anyway. Even when he had a thing for me, he was pushy and I had to block his number. I just wish I said something sooner cause he moved right onto Daisy.”

This got my attention, and I stormed over to my woman. She took Avy from my arms and looked up at me.

“What?”

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

Lily just shrugged. “We weren’t together. I blocked him and that was that. I never heard from him again.”

Thor leaned over and smiled down at our little newborn. “She’s so precious. But what do we do about Daisy?”

“She needs to go to the Chief. Even if it’s off duty, he needs to know what’s going on.”

“She won’t go. Doesn’t want to cause waves as the only female officer on the force.”

Lily shook her head. “I’ll talk to her and see if I can convince her to. I know she wants to lie low and just blend in, but Hayes won’t stop now. You’re going to stay the night so we can keep an eye on you and Hayes doesn’t try anything funny. We have plenty of cameras for proof and then we go right to Doctor Tickner in the morning.”

Thor nodded and smiled at Lily and me. “Thank you. For all of this. I feel fucking horrible since you just pushed that baby out and here I am, making trouble.”

Lily just laughed. “I live for this. Plus, I get to take Hayes down in front of everybody. Guest room is just past the playroom and I’m sure there’s some of Hawk’s clothes in there you can wear. Go get some rest.”

He stood and walked down the hall. Hawk shook his head as Sav slid onto his lap.

“Poor fucking kid. His sister is gonna flip her shit, and she’s scary, man. All that Norse shit. I think she may be a witch…”

Sav just laughed. “She’s not scary. Astrid is a sweetheart, and yes, she practices Norse Paganism, which is like wicca. Jeez, sit down and talk to her for once.”

Hawk pretended to shiver. “Nope. Her and Luna still have it out for me. I like my balls and don’t want them to chop them off.”

Lily laughed. “You’re so dramatic, Jesus christ.”

Sav leaned her head on Hawk’s shoulder and he softly kissed her head.

“We’ll come by in the morning to help. You need to rest, mama. I’ll take Thor over to Doc in the morning. Get some rest and call us if you need anything in the meantime. We mean it, Lily. Two A.M and we can be here.”

Lily smiled as we all stood and headed toward the front door.

“Thank you. I love this hodgepodge of a family. Drive safe you two.”

We shut the door behind them and walked up the stairs to our room, quietly placing Avyanna in her crib next to our bed. Lily and I climbed into our bed and within minutes, she was asleep.
