Putting in my waistband at my back, I moved toward the warehouse. There were no windows to look through, so I just had to fucking storm in.
Inching toward the door, I slowly opened it and saw Beckett and the kids sitting in the middle of the empty warehouse.
I peeked around and didn’t see anybody else, so I ran in. I hurried over to them, but Beckett just kept shaking his head.
I pulled off the tape on both kids and then Beckett.
“It’s a trap! Get the fuck out of here!”
I shook my head. “No. I will die saving these kids. Now shut up so I can work.”
I moved to and untied them when the door slammed open, sending an echo around the room.
I jumped up and grabbed the gun. Tessa and a man walked into the warehouse, circling me like hungry sharks.
“Get the fuck away from my kids, bitch!”
I aimed my gun at her, yet still kept an eye on the unknown man.
“Just walk away, Tessa. This isn’t going to end well, no matter the outcome. Just leave them alone and go on with your life.”
“No! I need them!”
I shook my head. “No, you don’t. And they don’t need you. You walked away. So just walk away again and let these kids live in peace.”
“Fuck you! You don’t know shit!”
“I know you don’t deserve to be a mother to these wonderful kids.”
Tessa went to run at me when the man grabbed her and pulled her back. He turned to me and calmly spoke.
“It’s very simple. You’re here to save the kids and there’s one way to do that; you and the other guy walk away. These kids are never leaving here. But if you leave without a fight, I’ll make sure they get sold to a nicer buyer.”
I glared at the man as I placed myself in front of the kids.
“Over my dead fucking body.”
I brought the gun up and pulled the trigger, hitting him right in the leg.
“Last chance, fucker. You don’t know who the fuck I am.”
The man laughed as he held his leg. “You’re just an attorney who happens to be fucking the kids dad.”
I smiled as I shot his other leg, “Oh sweetheart. You are so very fucking wrong. I’m the motherfucking princess of theChicos del Lado Sur.You wanna fucking play? Then let’s do this.”
His smile faltered, and Tessa paced around. Beckett whistled low behind me.
“Well, shit. This just got interesting.”
While Tessa checked on her man, I untied the kids and Beckett, still keeping an eye on the other two.
Just as I finished untying the kids, I heard the undeniable sound of somebody racking a gun. I slowly turned to see Tessa pointing a handgun at me.
She aimed the gun toward the kids and had a crazy look in her eyes. I moved in front of the kids while pushing them against Beckett. I could see Maddox trying his best to untie the prospect.
“I’ll fucking kill them. I don’t care! Give me my goddamn kids!”
The man tried to sit up, clearly shocked that Tessa was going against their plan.
