“You’d be amazed by what this mouth can do.”

Oh wow.

I thought broody Mike Robinson was attractive but flirty Mike Robinson trumps all.

Chapter Six

Mike Robinson

“You know, this is how me and Victoria started,” Alex says as he sets a box on top of the coffee table.

After I left Cassie’s room, I went back to mine and found Alex, Victoria, Mila, and Webber all huddled around my empty bed. Of course they were talking about me and how I was on the verge of going off the deep end. I cleared my throat and told them there was no need to worry, that I had taken the leap. Whatever drastic thing they thought I’d do, paled in comparison to the bomb I dropped and when I revealed that Cassie was moving in and I was going to pretend to be her baby’s daddy—well, they lost their shit.

Ironic, if you ask me, but whatever.

Before Cassie and I parted ways, I asked her if it would be okay to let Webber and company in on her situation. If we were going to pull this off we needed to call in the reinforcements. She agreed, so when the four maniacs calmed down, I explained everything. I told them how I found Blackthorne in her room, and how he demanded she get an abortion. That she told him the baby wasn’t his and I stepped in, naming myself as the father.

Everyone, except for Mila, stared at me like I had third eye growing out of my forehead. For once I was in the girl’s good graces. With her on my side, we convinced the others that I didn’t need a CAT scan—just a plan.

And so here we are.

Operation Make Mike A Dad in full effect. It sucks that I can’t do much to help them move Cassie in, but I’m nursing beers and directing everyone where to put the boxes—that’s a dad move, no? I’m on my way.

Lifting my beer to my lips, I stare at Alex.

Shit.

Did he say something?

“I’m sorry, what?”

He unscrews the top of the beer and takes a seat on the coffee table in front of me.

“I saw Victoria at the gym talking to Jennings and I inserted myself into the situation, claiming she was my girlfriend.” He tips his beer toward me. “I’ve got a fifty that says within three months you and Cassie become the real deal.”

I scoff.

“I’m just helping her out, man. The girl did me a solid…”

Naturally, they were at the hospital when Cassie handed him the duffel bag, so my little business deal with Primo is no secret. In fact, Webber and Alex, helped me out after I was discharged. I couldn’t drive with one hand, and I needed to meet with Primo. He gave me an extension and with Webber and Alex taking turns as my chauffer, I got rid of the supply.

I shrug my shoulders.

“I’m simply returning the favor and in the process, I’m keeping the Society from sinking their claws into another innocent girl.”

“Amen to that,” Alex mutters. He takes a long pull of his beer, then lowers the long neck. “Still think you’ll wind up with her, though.”

I roll my eyes, the idea preposterous. As if on cue, the girls walk in, carrying more of Cassie’s shit.

“I can carry some stuff,” Cassie complains as she trails behind Mila and Victoria.

“You shouldn’t be lifting anything,” Mila says.

“Why don’t you go sit on the couch with Mike? He’s doing a fine job of relaxing, he can teach you a thing or two,” Victoria adds, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She shoots me a cheeky smile and follows Mila down the hallway.

Cassie comes into view and my gaze slowly travels the length of her. With her secret out in the open, she’s ditched the oversized smocks in favor of some more form fitting clothing. Today’s outfit is a pair of gray leggings that mold to her lean legs and a simple white Henley that stretches across her breasts—which, by the way, are fantastic. I haven’t been formally introduced to them, not in a way that would make Alex closer to winning that fifty dollar bet, but I’ve got eyes and since she’s been in and out of the apartment the last two days, I took notice of a few things.

Cassie Phillips having a nice rack is one of them.
