I beatthe enforcer trying to take me down into a bloodied pulp.

As I heard my wife screaming, I shoved myself off the floor and reached for the gun I had dropped. I put two in the man’s knees, assuring he’d go nowhere. When I heard a grunt from down the hallway, I charged out of the bedroom.

“No one drags off my wife,” I growled.

My eyes widened when I saw the man standing there with his cock out. It looked like he was bleeding from it, and that’s when I saw Bonnie scrambling away. I put all the pieces together and took aim right as I got to the doorway. I pointed the barrel of that fucking gun right at the man’s head as his bleeding dick dangled between his helpless legs.

I looked down at her as she sat my feet. “I know.”

I should have pulled the trigger. I needed to. I needed to make a stand against the man who put his hands on my wife. Who thought, only for a moment, that he could have what was rightfully mine. But curiosity got the best of me. I had some questions I wanted answers to.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“That’s Bradley. My—”

“Did I ask you?” I snarled.

The man chuckled, even through his pain. “Just shoot me already. You already shot Deac.”

“In the knees, yes. I have plans for him. But I also have plans for you. Why does my wife’s father want her dead?”

He grinned but didn’t say anything.

“Shoot him, Israel,” she said.

The enforcer snickered. “Yeah, you’d like that. Since you’ve got no idea where your allegiance lies right now.”

I nodded. “So that’s why. Her father’s questioning her loyalties and would rather off his own damn daughter than simply call her out on it.”

“Just kill them, Israel!” she shrieked.

“You'll shut up, and you'll like it!” I bellowed.

The enforcer grinned happily. “Oh, I’m going to enjoy watching this.”

Then, I put a bullet in his knee just for that snarky little quip.
