I paced aroundthe basement all day, wondering if Teo would come down and visit me. All night, I’d been up thinking about our encounter. Tasting him on the tip of my tongue, even as I laid there hours after the fact. I let my fingertips trail along my lips as I closed my eyes. I remembered the feeling of his hand twisted into my hair. The way his cock pulsed against my cheeks. The way his skin flushed and his face contorted with pleasure and his muscles pulsed for my viewing pleasure.

The man was a fucking God in the throes of passion.

And I wanted more of him.

“Come on, Char, keep your wits about you,” I murmured.

But, even that nickname sent shock waves through my system that I couldn't control. His growling voice and my truncated name did something to me, and I felt my nipples puckering in an instant. I cursed myself as I rushed into the bathroom and splashed some water in my face. And as I dabbed my face dry with the luxurious towel behind me, I gazed upon the fading bruise around my wrist.

A wrist that hadn’t been shackled for two days now.

Before I could even question it, though, I heard the door open upstairs. I rushed out of the bedroom and fluffed out my hair as the footsteps above my head sounded heavily. They came down the stairs and I sat on the edge of my bed. Then, I decided I might as well stand and greet Teo like a human being. Up and down and went, sitting and standing, unsure of which he’d enjoy more from me.

If I sit, would he give me more of him?

The basement door eased open. “Miss Pettigrew?”

I jumped up from the bed. “Hey there. How are you feeling?”

He slipped inside, closing the door behind him. “We need to talk.”

My stomach dropped through the floor. “That’s never good.”

He pulled a chair over. “Sit. Get comfortable.”

I eased myself back down onto the mattress as he pulled up a chair. He sat in front of me with his leg crossed over his knee and his hands settled perfectly against his thigh. I crossed my legs at my ankles, trying to ignore the growing need blossoming between my thighs.

I felt Teo studying me before he finally spoke. “I ran into Lorenzo while I was out today.”

I paused. “Am I supposed to know that name?”

“He’s part of the family that ran the auction where I found you.”

“Ah. So, I hate him. Got it.”

A shadow of a grin ticked his cheek. “He offered me fourteen million dollars this afternoon in exchange for you.”

I felt my face pale. “What did you say?”

He paused, but only briefly. “I told him women weren’t for purchase, and that we didn’t have a deal.”

I smiled softly. “Thank you.”

He didn’t smile with me, though. “I’m telling you this because I don’t want to be secretive. If there’s something happening that has to do with you, you have a right to know.”

“I appreciate that.”

“With that said, however, I have a proposition for you. Especially since you’ve done well with not being shackled for the past couple of days.”

I cocked my head. “I’m all ears. What’s up?”

He sighed. “I’d like to hash out a new agreement with you. One that doesn’t require you constantly staying down here in the basement.”

All right, here we go. Time to do what I do best. “Well, you’re in luck because I happen to be quite good with agreements.”
