“Why don’t we all just go? It’s not an overnight trip and some of the Furlites are staying behind so they can watch over things while we’re gone,” Exton pointed out.
After quick nods, we all broke off to get ready. I couldn’t keep the smile off my face. My aliens had taken my suggestions about theherdand now we had a barn full of happy women. I’d been worried that the women would hate me for getting to live in the dome with the owners, but they’d been nothing but kind. I’ve made some good friends over the past year.
Thanks to Teraso, even the Furlites got on board with the new way of doing things. Milk production was up, which meant profits were up. When I’d found out that our milk was being sold to bees to make their honey taste sweeter, I’d been a bit weirded out, but the women didn’t seem to care.
With the extra money the farm was bringing in, we’d bought the women all kinds of things from books and games to a swimming pool and floaties. Taclan was looking into buying some smaller huts for the women who requested privacy and Exton had just purchased more land so they could expand.
Nearby owners had taken to stopping in and asking my aliens for advice. They always puffed out their chests when they introduced me as their secret weapon. We were working with a couple of them to implement the same changes in their farms.
I was patiently waiting at the door to the dome, chatting with Terra, the dome’s computer, when my aliens burst into the room, pushing and tripping each other to get to me first. This was their usual crazy antics. I rolled my eyes.
“Open please, Terra.” When the door swooshed open, I walked outside. “I’m leaving,” I called out.
Barely a moment had passed when I was scooped up. “Gotcha,” Osin crowed. “Suckers,” he called over his shoulder as he took off running toward the barn to where the women were standing beside the large ship we used for our field trips.
“Hey, no fair,” Exton yelled from close behind.
“She’s sitting with me,” Taclan called.
The women, used to our brand of crazy, laughed as the boarded the ship.
My life had taken a drastic turn when I’d been kidnapped by aliens, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. I couldn’t wait to see what the future had in store for me and the aliens I loved.
