“Not at all. What do you want?” He doesn’t even hesitate and I realize he thinks I’m being serious.
“I’m not letting you buy me—” I cut myself off as my eyes land on his wrist and I remember he’s rich. My smile widens as I fully turn to him. “Can we make a trip to Apple?”
Thirty minutes later, we’re at the mall. The people at the front greet us and I smile in return as my feet take me to the iPad section.
“So.” I grab the one I want as I turn to Jackson. “Look at how pretty and huge this one is.” I let him see the back before explaining all of the digital art I want to try on an app the iPads come with.
When I finish my rant, he’s still standing like he’s listening in great detail. “You didn’t have to convince me, I was getting it either way.”
“Oh, I know.”
His smile grows as I look down at the device.
“I just have no one to talk to about my art. I think I want to start going out and drawing in public. Like at cute parks and stuff, soak in the sun or what not. This will just make that easier.” I shrug, knowing I probably won’t have the energy for that on most days, but it’s about setting intentions, so I let myself believe my words.
“Well, I like hearing you talk about things you enjoy, so you can always tell me all about it.”
My eyes meet his and he watches me for a beat before nodding behind me.
“So we should get the pen thing, too, right?” He goes in search of them and I follow behind him with a smile.
“If you insist.” I shrug. As we pass the new AirPods Max, I stall in my steps. Closing the distance between myself and the table, I grab a pair and when I press the noise cancelling button, the busy room goes silent. My jaw drops.
I play a song on the phone that’s connected to it and my jaw drops further. One of the employees in front of me laughs at my reaction. Pulling them off, my hearing comes back. “These are pretty cool,” I admit with a laugh as I set them back down.
“Is there anything I can help you with?” She nods at the headphones.
“Yes.” Jackson steps up beside me. “Can we get the new iPad and the pen?”
She asks us which one specifically and Jackson tells her we’ll take the newest version of both.
“Would you like to add WiFi and cellular data to the iPad?” The employee looks up from her tablet. “You’ll be able to make calls without having your phone near you.”
I glance over at Jackson and he nods. “Yeah, can you also add the two year Apple care to both?”
She types into her iPad and after I put in my information, she asks if we want anything else. Before I can say no, Jackson speaks up.
“Can I also get the headphones and a case for everything?”
I almost tease him into also getting the cool headphones for me, but the iPad is what I came for, so I don’t push it.
After he sorts through the colors and also requests two new chargers, she gets the products for us.
“Alright, your total is $4,159.03.”
My brows slightly raise, but when I turn to Jackson he simply hands her a black card without blinking.
“You two have a good day.” She hands me the bag and we thank her before bidding her goodbye.
“Thanks, sugar daddy.” I smile up at Jackson as we walk out.
He lets out a low laugh as he shakes his head at me. “Anytime, sugar baby.”
I bite back my smile as I look back down at the bag, my eyes landing on the headphones. “I’m totally going to be borrowing these whenever I’m at your house.” I take them out of the bag to admire them through the box.
“What do you mean?” He lets out a low chuckle. “They’re yours. The chargers too. I didn’t need anything.”
“What?” My eyes snap up to his.
