Chapter Eighteen
It isn’t long before Jordyn takes the remote from my hand and starts scrolling through the endless possibilities in front of her. I try to hold back the anger that bubbles up in my chest when I think about the reason why she didn’t have a clue what Netflix even was. I’m even behind on the times, and I know what it is. Shit, I still own a damn flip phone. The only reason why I have this on my TV is because it’s Cammy’s account. I don’t tell Jordyn that though. I saw the way she scowled when Cammy was all but sitting in my lap at the barbecue. And I’m an asshole because I didn’t even push the woman off me. I shouldn’t have let Cammy get so close, the pout she gave me when I grabbed Kas to leave only made me feel like an even bigger dick. I had managed to hurt two women in the span of thirty minutes.
“Oh, what is this?” Jordyn pulls me back to her search to find the perfect movie to watch. “This looks good.” She hovers over some doctor show, and I groan, knowing exactly what it is. Cammy always has the damn thing playing when I drop Kas off at her place. Once again, I keep quiet about Cammy.
“Some doctor thing. You’d probably like it. Drama and shit.” I huff when she presses play settling myself in for the long haul because I don’t want to leave if something as simple as watching a TV show on Netflix is going to make her smile like that. Hell, I always want to see her smile like that.
Four episodes in and the are you still watching screen pops up. I glance over to see if Jordyn wakes up from the sudden silence, but she still keeps lightly snoring. I smile because damn it’s cute. She is propped up with a couple of the couch pillows and doesn’t look all too comfortable, so I decide to pick her up and take her to her room. Only when I start toward the stairs, I detour to my room. Before I know it, I’m tucking her under my sheets and watching as she curls up on her side, her hair spread out across my pillow. Instead of crawling in behind her I force myself to stop staring at her like a damn stalker and go back to the couch. Grabbing a blanket, I lay down and press resume on the show.
