I take my gun from the waistband of my jeans and put two holes in the chest of the guy on the right and run up to where Rhylee is now standing over Mike.
“I did it, dad!” Rhylee yells as if she has just learned how to ride a bike rather than stab a man in his leg during a hostage situation. That’s my girl.
“Hell yes, you did.” I bring her in and hug her tight to my chest, planting a kiss on the top of her head. “Go find your mom,” I say and let her go, all my attention directed at Mike now. “You really should have fucked with someone else.” I grab his shirt collar and pull him back up off the ground only to bring my fist to his face again and again until there is nothing but blood and dust covering the both of us.
“Roman!” my fist smashes into Mike’s face one last time before someone is pulling me off the guy. “Damn you are just doing more damage to yourself than to him at this point.” Rock tells me, getting me to drop the bloodied mess that once was Mike to the ground. Instead of walking away I grab his abandoned gun from the ground and aim it at his head, firing shot after shot until there is nothing left but the clicking of empty chambers.
“I think you got him.”
“He won’t be coming back this fucking time,” I grumble and look around me. My brothers have come out of the clubhouse their guns still ready. “Do you see anyone else out there?” I ask.
“Everything is clear. Looks like that was all of them,” Wiz says in my ear and I allow my shoulders to relax only slightly. I know the worst of this whole situation is yet to come when I find Pria storming right over to me.
“Roman! How dare you use our daughter as-” I cut her off mid yell and plan a claiming kiss right on her still yelling mouth. She keeps trying to pull away and yell at me some more but I don’t relent. I just keep kissing the woman until she calms down enough for me to speak.
“I have been working with Rhylee on self-defense. I knew she would be able to handle the situation.”
“What if something had gone wrong!”
“Then you would have killed me.” I smile at Pria then look over at Rhylee. “You are one hell of a kid Rhy. I'm so proud of you.” Pria bitches some more but I don't listen. Yes, I agree it was a gamble and a fucking stupid play, but hell, it was the first one that popped into my mind. And she pulled it off flawlessly.

Pria
“I know it’s not completely like what your dad had built but-”
“I love it Roman I really do but… We have a teenage daughter. She can’t grow up living above a bar that is full of drunk bikers every night.” It has been about a week since we have been back in Rhino and living in the clubhouse. Which I am hoping will change very soon but the plans Roman is showing me now of a new bar with an upstairs apartment isn’t really what I had in mind for our permanent living quarters.
“Oh. Yeah, I suppose. I just wanted to give this back to you. Somehow anyway.” He seems dejected as he pulls the sheet of paper away. Only I stop him and pull it back.
“How about this? Instead of a bar downstairs it’s our living room and the kitchen. Let’s build a house instead. I mean, I know the club is going to build a bar back in the same spot mine was in but what if we found our own spot? It would be nice to have a yard. Maybe some chickens?”
“Fuck no on them chickens babe, but all that other shit is a yes for me. I kind of have a spot in mind actually, if you have a second, I’d like to show it to you.”
“I don’t know. I mean I have such a busy schedule of doing absolutely nothing but laundry and helping out with the dishes.” I am really going to need to find something to do in the small town or I will go crazy.
“I’m sure they can spare you for a moment.” I smack Roman’s arm then thread my fingers through his and let him lead me downstairs and through the shop. Rhylee is down there with Kasin, Halley, Norabel and Saint. Norabel, Show and Cammy’s daughter, is close to Rhylee’s age and have taken to each other.
“What the hell are all you kids doing in here?” Brood comes inside the shop through the bay door. “Halley your dad told me you got chores to do and you other young’ins need to find a different hang-out spot. Kasin’s got work to do.” He snaps his fingers and they all scatter like mice. Rhylee waves to me as she follows her new friends out of the garage. “Damn kids are everywhere,” Brood grumbles then looks up at us. “Where are you two off to?”
“Going to show her that property heading out of town.” Roman keeps tugging my hand to lead me out to his bike, not even stopping to exchange any other words with Brood. “Surly bastard. Ever since he quit drinking he’s been even more grumpy. The only time he is actually bearable is when Jordyn is around.”
When we reach Roman’s bike he pulls out a helmet from his saddlebag. “For you my lady.” I can’t help but laugh at him.
“Lady huh? Okay then.” I put the helmet on and climb onto the back of the bike behind him.
“Hold on tight baby.” I chuckle as the bike roars to life and he backs it out of his parking space. It takes no time at all to get out of the small town and a mile down the road where he pulls off onto a long driveway. There are trees all around us and a small creek running alongside the road. He pulls up underneath a large tree and turns the bike off. “What do you think?” we get off the bike and put our helmets down.
“There are so many trees over here. It’s like we drove into another realm.” My words make him laugh. “Well you know what I mean. There are a total of ten trees in town and the grass hardly stays green.”
“Well this part is right on the creek. We could put the house there,” he points toward the direction of town. “Far enough away in case the creek floods, and it does that from time to time. Especially with rough winters. There is an incline over there that should work. Only problem is that the driveway may get flooded sometimes. Which is why the property hasn’t sold.”
“Oh yeah, that’s the reason why. It couldn’t be because the town consists of a biker gang.” I tap my lips and smile at him. “This is beautiful, and if we get flooded in, we get flooded in. That will just mean I would get you all to myself for a couple of days.”
“Couple of days and you will probably want to kill me Pria,” he says and steps over to me. “We got another thing we need to talk about before we get to building this house.”
“And what is that?”
