I watched him and he stood so full of confidence, a dark light in his eyes as he watched me, expression impassive. I reached up and untied the thin, spaghetti strap bow at the back of my neck, letting the satin covering my breasts fall away.

He smiled, a man who knew he’d won the prize as he reached down and loosened his beach pants, letting them fall. I raised my hips, and he swept my dress down my legs and let it fall to the floor and as soon as it left his fingertips in a shining fall of slick fabric, he reached up in that way that guys do and gripped the back of his button down linen shirt and hauled it up over his head.

He let his hungry gaze wander over me from head to toe and back up again before, like the predator he’d made himself into, he crawled over the top of me, kissing his way up my body to claim my mouth again like it was his ultimate prize.

I reached for him, laying back on the slick black satin, wrapping my arms and legs around him and pulling his warmth over the top of me. I kissed him until I was breathless with need for something more, for a deeper touch and I practically begged him, “Make love to me.”

“Is that what we’re doing?” he asked, kissing the side of my neck, sounding a bit dazed. I smiled to myself, my lip trembling.

“Always,” I whispered back, and he made this satisfied little ‘hm’ and slid himself inside of me with a deliberate thrust of his hips. I gasped, writhing beneath him as he filled me, and he didn’t hesitate, just struck a strong sure rhythm that straddled the line between possession and obsession.

I was alright with that. I understood that Kyle’s version of love and loving someone had been shattered a long time ago. That things were just different when it came to him and that that wasokay… that he had protected his heart for so long, with so many, that he just didn’t know how to love anyway else.

I clasped his face between my hands as he pushed his cock deep within my pussy and made eye contact with him. I let the dark things, the light things, and everything in between swim through my gaze, showing him just how intensely I felt for him, how deeply those feelings ran and how strong I could be to take his love in whichever way he felt like showing it.

I was pleasantly surprised when he groaned aloud and covered my mouth with his, the kiss deeper, more demanding than anything we’d shared before. I buried my fingers in his soft hair, raised my hips and ground down to meet his thrusts and lost all sense of myself, of time, and let myself be immersed completely in him as we shot across the sky at however many miles per hour this private jet that we were on could go.

“Sadie.” He moaned my name like it was a prayer and I cuddled around him closer, gasping, both of us panting, as we left earth’s very atmosphere with how high the pleasure took us.

I kissed his chest, his shoulder, the side of his neck – just everywhere I could reach. I held him close, raked nails lightly down his back, gripped his ass and pulled him in tighter, squeezing down on him with my core muscles until he made a strangled noise of – well I didn’t know what it was, but I did know it was good.

I don’t know how long we were like that, how long we loved each other, how high we actually climbed, how fogged with pleasure and desire we became, I just know that when we finally came? It was together, and for me at least, it was both powerful and the most gentle thing I had ever encountered with him.

“You’re a miracle made in flesh,” he murmured, kissing me gently, as we both came down. I smiled and traced his sharp and handsome features with gentle fingertips.

“And you say you can’t be smooth or do hearts and flowers,” I whispered, and he smiled at me, chuckling.

“I can, sometimes, it’s just not always my first inclination. You’re different,” he confessed. “You’ve always been different.”

I raised an eyebrow slightly and cuddled closer, craving his touch. I swear, Ialwayscraved to be touched…

“I don’t know why,” I whispered.

“It’s just you, babe. It’s just always something that’s been about you. I can’t explain it. Don’t need to. I just know it’s real, and it’s there and that is enough for me.”

“Hmm,” I hummed considering what he said.

“We have some hours before we land,” he murmured. “You hungry?”

I laughed slightly and nodded. “Starving, actually… now that you mention it.”

“Okay.” He kissed the tip of my nose and pulled away from me gently. I couldn’t help the pouting moan and he smiled as though it was one of the best sounds he’d ever heard.

We redressed, slipping out into the rest of the plane and he rang the flight attendant, ordering our food in a hushed tone. Coming to sit with me at the table. The meal was kind of amazing for being served on a flight, then we filled some of the rest of the time back to Maryland cuddled in one of the wide reclining seats and watching movies on the big screen set into the wall by the door to the cockpit.

We had a few drinks, watched what Kyle liked as he made comical criticisms of Roan’s movie choices and I found, honestly, that I liked them both for different reasons. Roan’s for the deep and emotional connections between the characters on the screen and Lach’s for the bright, fast-paced action and explosions.

Somehow, the flight home from the island seemed to go much faster than the flights down had. Probably the lack of stops and layovers. I was tired and beginning to drift when Kyle nudged me awake gently and murmured, “Shady come on, let’s get you buckled up for landing.”

He buckled me into my seat and found my sandals, slipping them back onto my feet as I considered him kneeling in front of me. It so wasn’t like him but was at the same time. He looked up and gave me one of his devil-may-care reckless grins that always made my chest loosen and I smiled back.

He kissed me, before finding his own seat and buckling up.

The landing was rougher than in a big plane, and I sucked in a sharp breath as Kyle reached out and clutched my hand in his to keep me steady. I swallowed, mouth dry as we taxied to another hangar and the plane’s engine wound down.

“You’re free to disembark,” the captain came over the intercom.

“Um, thank you,” I called out and Kyle laughed at me.
