“It wasn’t, but everything about it was perfect in its own way. I loved everything about tonight, Abs, and I hope we can do it again.”

“Again? You want to go out on another date?”

“Hopefully many more dates.” I brushed her hair from her shoulders. “Being with you and Stet, it was the best night of my life.”

She inhaled, her chest moving up as her eyes bore into me. “Cash…” Her hands cradled my face, her thumbs gently brushing my lips. “Kiss me.”

I wasn’t sure who moved first, but our lips met and fire ignited. My hand cupped the back of her head, holding her to me. Our tongues danced as the kiss grew deeper, the fire only growing, as she began to move her body against mine. Her hands glided up my chest, to my neck, then back down my chest again. Abi explored. Her fingers wandered my body, as if she was studying every aspect of me through the fabric.

If there were any walls left between us, they were gone now. I’d never felt this way with a woman before, and I had had plenty of women, but with Abi it was more passionate. We moved with each other seamlessly, completely in sync from the way our hips circled and our breaths matched moan for moan. Our lips even knew exactly what the other needed, but light nips and gentle swipes of our tongues—I had never been kissed like this. There was no thinking involved. Abi was made for me.

Arching her back slightly as she looked at me, desire flooded through her eyes, her lips perfect and plump. Running her hands to my shoulders, she tilted her head, giving me perfect access to kiss her neck.

The same soft moan fluttered through the air once my lips met her skin, and she shivered. She pressed into me, both on my growing erection and into my chest. I licked and sucked on her neck, not even thinking about how far I was taking this. Herneck rolled, forcing me to stop, but not for long once her lips met mine again, a kiss so deep—so electrifying—I couldn’t contain myself. I ran my hands down her arms, moving to her back.

“Cash,” she breathed. “I…I…” Her hands trailed up my chest, gliding back down once they reached my shoulders.

“What is it, Abi?” I asked, kissing her again and again. “Tell me what you want. It’s yours, no matter what it is.”

“I want…” Her fingers played with the buttons on my shirt, not actually undoing them, but playing with them. Teasing them. I could feel her fingertips hit my skin as she played, the chill from them alone making the heat in me grow.

“Abi…” I rocked my hips, showing her exactly what I wanted. She let out a moan, only making me harder as she moved against me.

“I want you to touch me,” she whispered.

Abi

KylalookedlikeIhad just dropped a total bomb on her front porch. Her mouth was open, her eyes were wide, and her hands were frozen in front of her. I chewed on my bottom lip, instantly regretting telling her the story of what happened in Cash’s truck.

We ended the day with a few drinks—non-alcoholic for Kyla, a little alcoholic for me—on the front porch, the chill from winter still lingering in the spring air. It was warm enough that we were fine wearing light jackets, the spirits in our drinks—well at least mine—helping keep us warm.

“Well…” she finally burst. “Did he touch you? Please tell me he touched you.”

“He started to—” I hesitated. “But we didn’t go far…clothes stayed on.”

“Why did you stop?” she urged, her voice an octave higher than normal as she lurched forward on her chair, her eyes nearly bugging out of their sockets.

“Well…I remembered something, and it forced me to put a stop to the moment.”

“What could have been so important that you stopped it?” She slapped her thighs.

I slumped my shoulders and looked at her. “I don’t know, maybe the fact that I started my period yesterday morning.”

“Oh.” Her entire body slumped dramatically. “Yeah, that would kill the mood.”

“Oh, it didn’t kill the mood…we just…toned it down.” I raised my glass to my lips.

“Toned it down?” she parroted.

“We slowed the touching; we slowed the kissing. It was…more intimate, not frantic. Like his body knew exactly what my body wanted. And then…he walked me to the door, kissed me goodnight and left.” I swooned at the thought. The moment his fingers began to find my skin under the dress, finding their way to my underwear, I jerked at the memory of my cycle starting. I hadn’t had to think about it with regard to something like this in the past five years, and I definitely didn’t plan on straddling Cash in his truck. But he was understanding. He helped smooth the fabric of the dress, he kissed the bare skin on my shoulders and helped me climb out of his truck, kissing my temple the entire way to the front porch. “He was a gentleman.” I said softly, replaying the night in my head.

“He seems like he would be.” Kyla smiled. “And…did you talk to Stetson? Having a relationship with a kid doesn’t seem like it would be easy?”

I nodded. “Last night when I tucked him in. I told him I really liked Cash. No more ‘Uncle Cash.’” I air-quoted.

“I don’t think the kid would mind if someone else stuck around. He really likes Cash, too; I think we all do.” She gave me a small side eye, her lips stretching into a smile when she saw my reaction. “Where was he today? I didn’t see him?”
