Glaring at Desmond, I shot him a rude gesture, causing him to laugh, holding his hands up.Not to worry, princess. I know when I’m not wanted. I’ll just have to work harder to win you over.He winked before disappearing out the door.
Ira shifted through the water, ripples following him in his wake as he closed in on me. My eyes didn’t soften as he approached something that he noticed by the way his smile dropped. My shoulders curled into myself and I pushed back from him.
What’s wrong? He didn’t reach for me, keeping his distance and hands to himself. Are you regretting what we did?
I didn’t. Not really. My insides still tingled from what we did and I couldn’t find it in myself to hate it. I did worry though.
Will he tell Ryu?I blinked, trying not to let my frustration at the whole situation take over. If or when the more likely of the two, would it affect the drake king’s promise to help me against Callahan?
Ira had assured me that it was alright. That Ryu wouldn’t care that I belonged to all the drakes, not just the king. Or rather whatever drake I decided to be with. I didn’t think they would force me to bed all of them, not if I didn’t want to.
Moving a bit closer, Ira lifted his hand and brushed his fingers against my cheek in a manner so much in contrast to his savage love making that it startled me.Desmond is a lot of things but he is no gossip. But...
I froze at the word. But what?
Ira shifted into my space, his hands coming to rest on my waist.I do believe Ryu should know. Letting him find out on his own will not bode well with him. Our king favors honesty above all else.
Chewing on my lip, I nodded. I wasn’t sure I agreed with Ira but what else was I going to do? Ryu would see the mark Ira placed on me next to his the next time we had sex, I wouldn’t be able to hide it from him for long. Question was, how did I tell my sort of master that I let his brother violate me and I liked it... a lot.
Chapter 19
Ryu
The drake king leaned over the map of the five kingdoms, his eyes on the map before him but not really seeing it. The Plumus troops were moving on the border of Kinoko. There’d been reports of large numbers of them creeping along the edges, a little at a time coming through the border. How they were able to get across the border without the Kinoko king finding out, Ryu didn’t know? Or perhaps Fergus did know and was letting the prince bring in more troops to find his princess?
Either way, Ryu wasn’t thinking about how to stop the troops or what it would mean for the drakes. His mind was centered around one voluptuous princess who he hadn’t seen in three days.
It wouldn’t be unusual if they didn’t share a room. Each night, Georgia was asleep before he came to the room and then gone in the morning, even before him.
Ryu didn’t know if she was escaping to the female’s quarters or training with Beautine. If he was going to either place then she was making sure to be gone before Ryu appeared. There was no way it was a coincidence that each time he missed her. Which only meant one thing.
Georgia was avoiding him.
The question Ryu couldn’t answer was why? Had he done something to upset her? Or perhaps he’d forgotten to do something and that is what was causing her to avoid him?
“You look deep in thought, brother.” Desmond’s voice came from behind him, walking into the war room. “The plans giving you troubles?”
